I wonder if he will be interred at Rose Hill next to Duane and Barry Oakley.

Yeah,

Allman died due to liver cancer complications at his home in Savannah, Georgia, and he was "surrounded by his family and friends," Michael Lehman, Allman's longtime manager and close friend, told CNN.
He will be buried at Rose Hill cemetery in Macon, Georgia, though a funeral date has not yet been set, Lehman said. Two other founding members of the Allman Brothers -- guitarist Duane Allman and bassist Berry Oakley -- are also buried at Rose Hill Cemetery.

I enjoy a fair amount of the current music scene, but for the most part that is all it is, just enjoyable. Missing are the iconic musicians and the iconic music they produced. Sadly, we are losing icons like Gregg Allman far too often these days.

Listening to a bootleg of a New Year's Eve show at the Cow Palace in 1973 that I have not listened to in far too long.

RIP Gregg. I know you have a lot of catching up to do with your brother(s).

This latter-day Allman Brothers song is one of those songs that will instantly put me in a good mood if I am having a bad day.

I've seen TABB more than any other group. Was so hoping that Dickey and Gregg could tour again before one or the other passed on.

For those who don't know much about the time the Bros. spent in Maconga, Elizabeth Reed and "Little Martha" Ellis are also buried in Rose Hill. It's interesting that some of these men are laid to rest in a place where they obviously spent some time among the graves of others.

When I was living there, the gravesites were open. Now the gravesites are protected by a sturdy fence and partially obscured by ivy. which makes it difficult to see the mushrooms that are carved into the sides of Barry's and Duane's headstones.

Really strange scene here in town. Funeral was this morning here. It apparently was attended by a ton of Southern rock legends, Cher and Jimmy Carter. Hundreds showed up to line the funeral procession route and the burial was private....with about 1,500 watching from a hill in the cemetery.

Sounds a little odd. Used to have to go out there to sing Dixie with my fraternity on Confederate Memorial Day.

I've always liked the music, but there's definitely an odd element to his fandom that I've always said no thanks to.
