Gruden, Stoops & Fisher

Move on!! I know some of you just won't let go of the idea of these 3, but none of them are coming to Knoxville.

1. Gruden is going to leave the booth for college job, no shot (Eagles & Chargers more likely) - Everyone keeps tying his name to the Vols gig, but not one person has anything credible besides you want him and his wife was a cheerleader here. Super, move on...not happening.

2. Bob Stoops - Makes $5 million a year already with an enormous buyout option, currently has a national contender every single year and BCS squad...why move laterally (down) after 14 years at his school? Also, said Monday "He's not going anywhere loves his school"

3. Jimbo Fisher - He could have been named a coach of a ton of different schools while under Bobby Bowden, but for some reason stayed put to become the head coach of the FSU for only 2 season and then leave after he is brought them back to pre-season #2 and currently ranked in the Top 20? STOP IT!

I want a huge hire as much as the next guy and this coaching hire is as critical as any in what direction the program goes from here...but you people waiting for one of these names and will be disappointed if it's not them, you might as well go root for somebody else right now. None of these 3 are coming. A few names below are realistic, most of you are not. Go ahead and post about how when 1 of these 3 are the next head coach will I go away and not post....sure I will if that makes you happy. I can promise you though, when they aren't, none of you Gruden, Stoops & Fisher suckers will post anything about how dillusional you all have been since Dooley's firing.

1) Charlie Strong
2) Gary Patterson
3) Kirby Smart

It may not be Gruden, but it certainly won't be Patterson(he's a Texas boy and isn't going anywhere), it won't be Smart(no HC experience), it won't be Stoops(he said so yesterday), it won't be Fisher(FSU has him locked down).

Maybe Butch Davis, maybe Butch Jones, maybe Charlie Strong, maybe a bunch of other guys, but your post doesn't have a lot of merit.:hi:

Has it been rumored at all that we have offered Patterson? He is the best most realistic shot we have at a great coach. He would be loved here and seems like a guy that once he was in place wouldnt leave.

It has more merit than anyone thinking any of those 3 are coming.

Terrible post and terrible list. None of your 3 listed is a great improvement over Doofus.

1) Strong hasn't won the Big East which is the easies conference
2) Patterson is never leaving TX
3) Are you freaking kidding? Haven't you learned from the Doofus and FatSal experiment? We will not do Saban rejects.

1 Gruden- He has said he would consider UT if he comes to college and loves it here.
2 Stoops- 14 years like you said. May be ready for a change
3 IDC either way but I don't think he would leave FSU for UT.

Strong/Patterson great hires but I don't know if Patterson would leave Texas. Smart do not want.

First of all, we need to get completely away from the Alabama connection. Just because they have been an assistant at Alabama DOES NOT MAKE THEM PRIME HC MATERIAL contrary to what a lot of fans seem to think. Successful(more wins than losses) HC experience either in college or at the NFL level should be the main factor in determining who we select as our next HC. A successful HC will get the recruits regardless of who he is. A successful HC will know how to appeal to recruits because he has had to do that to be successful!

Ugh well damn you have proven daily you are very reliable and have some very high ups to get inside info from so if your saying no Gruden then it has to be true and we had better move on. So, so disappointing. But nonetheless if its ok I think I will stick this out, go with the OG's, who obviously arent priveed to your info but wanna believe so I will stick it out and see if he's indeed announced on Fri.
