Gruden to Miami Canes?

According to Canes fans here in Miami, they expect Randy Shannon to be fired possibly by next week and John Gruden to be hired as new coach.

Thoughts? I don't understand why he would take over that program if he indeed turned us down because he wants to stay in Tampa, work in broadcasting or return to the NFL or whatever the excuse was. The canes fans basically want Shannon fired now, no more QB jacory Harris and they prefer the true freshman QB "S. Morris" starting over Jacory Harris. I personally think the Canes fans are still living in the past when they played in no conference and played no one on a weekly basis, every since they joined the ACC they have been average at best "imagine if they played in the SEC".

I agree 100%!! I get sick and tired of hearing how cocky they are and how they are going to destoy every team they play only to lose to some average teams every year and then it is funny how they cry about it and want to fire every coach they have. I loved every minute when the Vols came down here and beat UM in the orange bowl breaking their streak!!!

Just did a search and we found these threads:

Gruden to LSU
Gruden to Georgia
Gruden to ND
and of course the Gruden to UT threads are always popular

he's a very popular name when a coach is struggling/gone but don't see it happening

If they do get rid of Randy Shannon, I hope the Vols pick him up if anything as a recruiter!! The kids love him and he can recruit bigtime especially in South Florida! He could be our Rodney Garner.

One last note, maybe this is why G Marcus Jackson "UM vebal" is looking around and maybe goes to the Vols!!!

If we hadn't just hired Wilcox I wouldn't mind having him. He's had some solid Defenses down there. Wilcox still just needs time.

Don't think it was that crazy for us, but UT probably has a much better chance than most college teams.

Media has always loved Shannon for some odd reason, but he has been lousy. There is no reason you can't be successful there, and the ACC (despite a previous poster's kindness) is lousy. But of all the Gruden googles, Gruden to Colorado is the funniest.
