I think Pearl Jam is the best of the bunch but they weren't grunge. Just got lumped into that because if where the majority of the band hailed from and when they came out.

I have a stellar "Grunge" playlist on Spotify. I put it together after watching the Pearl Jam 20 documentary on Netflix. If you haven't seen it, you should.

High school Heart would have agreed with you. I actually started liking them about two years ago. I love the song "heart-shaped box" for its inventive lyrics. And another favorite Nirvana song:
