I would agree he looks like a player, but we still played horribly in that game. We need Tyler Smith to really step up and Hopson needs to not be afraid to take over games.

The problem most of us had with it is that apparently Bruce Pearl thinks that scouting players in completely unnecessary in effective gameplanning, as evidenced by his comments that they had not watched any film on the guy.

And UNLV isn't that good.

However, he is a pretty decent player. I wish UT had him instead of the crap we put out there at the point every night.

This changes my perspective dramatically.

I now think we will be great against every team that doesn't have a guard that is any good.

Agree to an extent about our scout process. Seems to be lacking. But to be fair, it was difficult to scout a kid like this who hadn't played in a game since February 2008. Plus his numbers at Charlotte were less than spectacular. Kevin O'Neill has to be thrilled with the way transfer turned out, especially when he looked out and saw how our transfer turned out (JP).

I'm not sure but wasn't he not known to be eligible until a few hours before the game started. That's a little late to scout a player.

Don't we all. Does anybody know if Trae Golden has the speed to stay with somebody like this guy?

gerrity wasn't overly fast...just played sound b-ball...protected the ball.....came off a screen well..penetrated to the rim...and dished it off last second

I'm not debating that there is film available, just if Bruce knew in time to look at it. Was his return apparent or was it a last minute thing?

Unless he was injured or they were 100% certain he would not play, then film should have been watched on him.

Too many people on staff for him to not have been scouted.

They said they didn't know if Gerrity would be eligible. In that case, don't you scout him just in case instead of taking the lazy way out?
