Restaurants:

Fancy
St Elmo’s is famous for their steak and shrimp cocktail. I have heard that quality isn’t as high as it used to be, but the atmosphere is great. I’ve heard Anthony’s chophouse and prime 47 may be a step above. St. Elmo Steak House | Indianapolis, IN

Geraldine’s- Known for their beef Wellington and coffee service. https://www.geraldinesindy.com/

Noah Grant’s- Noah Grant's - Home

Then obviously a slew of chains.

Other
Rathskeller- German. It was good, but honestly had better back in TN
Chapati/Shani’s Secret Chicken- Indian food that has a hidden chicken restaurant tucked away inside. Both menus are fantastic
Bluebeard- farm to table. One of the hottest spots in Indy
Root and Bone
Chef Oya’s The Trap
The Eagle- Best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Served with hot honey and spoonbread
Yaso- Jamaican
Old Gold BBQ- Only bbq here I’ve had that I could feel comfortable recommending to Tennesseans. Pitmaster trained under Aaron Franklin and puts out some good brisket. Food truck that sits in a brewery parking lot. Outdoor seating available.
Livery-Latin food in a neat location
Futuro- Awesome pizza and breadsticks. Detroit or tavern style. Also heard good things about king dough and beech grove pizza co. Pearl street pizza and pub has good pizza, but their spicy chicken soup is a must try. Bazbeaux and Jockamo’s are just meh.
Che chori- Argentinian food. Awesome sandwiches and empanadas.

Breakfast
Boujie biscuit-Seriously good, but call ahead because she doesn’t keep her hours current on Facebook
Rosie’s place- Zionsville location is where we go for breakfast each weekend. Killer omelets.
Milktooth- most popular brunch in Indy Milktooth
Long’s bakery- donuts that people here will die defending. Cash only
The Loft at Trader’s Point Creamery- Great for brunch or dinner. Can watch ice cream being made at the creamery and they serve cones and shakes at the counter

Hotels:
If you’re willing to pay for an elevated experience, the three best hotels in town (IMO) are Ironworks Indy, Bottleworks, and the JW Marriott.

Bars:
The Garage is going to be super popular this week. It’s like a step up from a food court. Approximately ten different restaurants with a couple bars inside. TV screens to watch the games.

The Ball and Biscuit if you’re into mixology

Hotel Tango Distillery

The District Tap

kilroy’s

Howl At The Moon if that’s kind of night

Best Districts
Broad Ripple- Butler University is nearby, so plenty of bars, restaurants and unique shopping. Access to the Monon trail for a beautiful walk or bike ride.

Fountain Square- Quirky area home to bars like the Inferno Room and some of the top eateries. Duckpin bowling and several theaters for live shows.

Zionsville- Cobblestone downtown. Boutiques and a handful of awesome restaurants.

Carmel/Fishers- Where the money lives.

Brownsburg if you are into drag racing and want to see where every shop is located.

Things To Do
If you have kids, the children’s museum and Indy zoo are both good options to keep them busy. Children’s museum is opening a new dinosaur exhibit this weekend.

Top Golf up on the north side.

Keystone Fashion Mall but I personally try to keep my wife away from there

Tour of Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The town of speedway also has some museums you can check out. Daredevil brewing company and brozinni’s pizza are good lunch spots when you’re done.

White River State Park/Canal Walk- Pretty neat walk along the river. Can also rent paddleboats.

Indy brings a surprising amount of good music into town. Wednesday before the game, Lost Dog Street Band (personal favorite) will be in Broad Ripple Village for a show. The HiFi also has great acts weekly.

A walk around Monument Circle is neat. Only twenty feet shorter than the statue of liberty

Will update the post with more links and ideas as I think of them. I snagged tickets for morning session Thursday. Hope we travel well. Go Vols!

Spot on with all your assessment Tri...I would like to throw in one of my favorite haunts in The Slippery Noodle.

Always has really great blues type music and a great atmosphere.

Well Harry and Izzy’s is their sister restaurant and share the same
Kitchen I believe. Would they be that much different from each other?

You wouldn't think so - but I've had FAR better experiences and food from Harry and Izzy's.
Not sure if has to do with management and staff in the restaurant or what...it's weird.

Shapiro’s Deli on the downtown south side is an old fashioned cafeteria style Jewish deli. Good food at decent prices.

Peyton is part owner of Harry and Izzy's. That's why it's better! Honestly it's hard to mess up a good steak and you can get one at both places. It's more laid back in Harry and Izzy's than St Elmos.
