I agree. Was his action a bit "misplaced", sure. This reeks of public castigation. Punishment is far excessive of the crime.

Ive seen people get much less for much worse. Generally cases like this fall into "they were ALL drunk" category and very light, if any, punishment is doled out. The LSU fan may have gotten bagged, but the Alabama fan got the shaft...all of it.

its usually set by state statute. Some states require that you serve as much as 80 percent of a sentence regardless of good behavior. Not sure of the laws in Louisiana. :hi:
