Muhammad Ali would be the most electric speaker possible. Who is still around today that would be a close second?

As far as Pete Rose mentioning betting on their sport, That sounds completely on point. I don't see the problem.

In the thread on what sporting event you would see if you could see any one in history, Ali/Frazier and Ali/Foreman were mentioned. Ali was an incredible athlete and competitor. Jordan would also be great to hear from.

Rose seems like a strange choice to me. Not sure how modern football players would relate to a guy their grandfather watched play a sport that they probably don’t follow. Also, Rose has never seemed to really accept that what he did was wrong, so it would be hard for it to be a cautionary tale.

For a UT team, I would think Eric Berry would be relatable and inspirational - played the sport at the highest level and faced down cancer.

Eric Berry is an excellent suggestion.
Al Wilson another. Reggie White is another great answer. So sad he could not continue to inspire all of us in person.

I wondered about the utility of Pete Rose, but then I thought about Ted Williams, and I think he could motivate athletes at any level and age, even when he was in his 80s. He was electric in every interview and owned every room her ever walked into. His books on baseball are genius and incredible reads.

Depends on how he handled it. Rose's smug arrogance would play ok for some teams.
I'm sure they set him up with video that provided his bona fides.
