Gus Malzahn impressed by Tennessee offensive line

They're good, not great. They haven't been as dominant as I thought they would be going into the season.

The opposing coaches pregame "coach speak" so far this year has been to say we have a great OL. Helfrich said it, Richt said it, Saban said and now Malzahn. Like they're reading from a script. Even if its not true it's the perception. Can't exactly point to any other position group and give the old sandbagging coach speak and rave about how good they are.

No offense to Coach Mahoney, but miss Pittman. Don't know what he did to put some fire under the line but they were a LOT better last yr.

Pittman was one coach I was hoping to be retained more than any other coach.

We are a better running team than last year and they're doing without the threat of the pass.

They've been bad at times, the pre-snap penalties have been drive killers but they've also faced some pretty stout competition.

Agree, running game is much better this yr.

On the penalties just annoying hearing the same two numbers over and over 74/78.

Saban and Malzahn were laughing while they were lying.

Apples and oranges give the "skill player" personnel. Nobody fears our passing game with the departure of Bray, Hunter, Patterson and Rivera. OL couldn't run block last year, only good at pass blocking. Not much has changed this year. If anything, the Mizzou game notwithstanding, I think the run game is better this year.

Mizzou's D-Line is top notch & our guys just had a bad game.

Our run game is significantly better than last year.

Everybody should lay off the O-Line, we're lucky to have 'em, but, "yous guys gonna dos what chu dos"

I really hope our offensive line steps up next year. I know we lose four seniors and Tiny will decide if he is going pro or not. Maybe next year, they'll finally step up and play like the Tennessee we know they can. I'm tired of this offensive line underachieving game in, game out.

And without a TE.

I do have to say that I've been hard on them, but i felt that the Vols should have won that game against Mizzou
