I clicked on his lead story about gold prices and got hit with some malware.

It presents as a shield in lower right corner of toolbar and starts prompting you with fake warnings about your computer being infected, all to get you to buy their antivirus software.

It will shut you out of certain files and flash up the fake warnings if you try to open things. It will even lock you out of your own antivirus software.

Be aware ...

wouldn't it be Breitbart's fault if you got it? And my browser is pretty locked down

Thanks for the info, but what in the world are you doing on Drudge? You spying on your enemies?

Interesting follow up to this....

We have an outside IT company and they log on by remote to deal with these things. I was watching at the end of the virus scan process run by them and the last thing quarantined and eliminate was a series of files called BHO. And the last of these was BHO.JEW.

Now, it does not take a ton of imagination here to think that picking this thing up on Drudge with files called BHO (Barrack Hussein Obama) and that title for the file isn't significant.

Thanks. Hey, I guess they're right. Gators, although slow and dangerous behind the wheel, can still serve a purpose. :)

This should probably be placed in the Limbaugh/Palin catch-all thread.

For the record BHO is a acronym in the technical field that stands for Browser Helper Object.

DGee, look up Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

LG, why do you assume that most of the people on the opposite side of the aisle from yourself get their marching orders from Limbaugh, Drudge, etc? That would be like me assuming that you frequent the Daily Kos, Pravda or The New York Times...
