It looks like some big-name guys are legitimately interested instead of using Tennessee for a pay raise!

Now (after giving up baseball for the better part of two years) I'm going to be mad after the hire is made that I'm going to have to wait for almost 9-months to see a game.

How much were season tickets in 2010? Will they accept my application and money in July?!?!?:yahoo:

If I were in marketing at UT, I would have a table/booth selling season ticket packages outside the press conference and meet and greet! Strike while the iron's hot!

you are really one of the few tennessee baseball fans very excited right now. I think its a good chance for the program to get to back to relevance and get the fans a good team to watch. I hope we hire the right guy this time!

The big advantage for Tennessee, unlike the past hires (football, basketball), is that there are only 2 BCS coacing positions open. The other one being Nebraska and we are not comnpeting aginst them for a coach. The timing is right and this is a solid gig. We should hit it out of the park with this hire. No excuses.

I wish I could say I have faith in MH, but I don't. I'm hoping for the best. I would love to hear some of these big names you speak of.

Dave Serrano and Chad Holbrook are who Hyam's and most sports beat guys are saying that have the inside track now. Either one is a homerun for UT. Serrano may be a grand slam. I know I will be writing the check for season tickets if one of them is the new head coach because the Vols will return to prominence in relatively short order.

Sorry but I can't agree with you. I'm around youth travel ball every weekend. I talk to tons of people with tons of money who are just DROOLING for a winning program. If you build it they will come.

I heard Hammy is bringing back Delmonico... from sources very, and I mean very close to the "situation"

i hope i'm wrong, but i have no faith whatsoever in hammy's ability to hire a coach. mediocre a.d.s don't go around hiring anything but mediocre coaches (and don't remind me that raleigh was somewhat short of mediocre).

I think the only way Delmonico comes back is if Hammy is gone. I would really love to see Serrano come here AND Hammy gone........:)
