Anyone know if the Vols will be going after him. He is a monster but has some grade issues. He is 6'5 315 and ran a 4.9 on a laser clock. He's a local boy from South Doyle. He is a big guy whos fairly fast, he ran a 60 yrd TD in a game this year.

Well the current staff isn't recruiting anyone, in fact they are doing just the opposite of that. So unless anyone knows who the new coach is, then no.

Sounds like he has the body to have some serious DT potential. Hopefully he gets his grade issues straightened out.

"Before I went on Christmas break, coach Randy Sanders was down here at my school, and he told me that they wanted me to come up for a visit," Worthen said. "So I'm going up to Kentucky on the weekend of the 31st. It sounds like they're very interested in me, and I'm the same way."

The 6-foot-5, 315-pound Worthen has yet to take any official visits. Academics have been an issue, which has led to few scholarship offers than expected and a delay in his recruitment.

"I have some grade issues to get past," Worthen said, "but (Kentucky) is talking about signing me no matter what, and if I make it, great, but if I need to go to a junior college or prep school, they'll wait on me.

I played on the same team as him. He's really big. And by big, I mean really big. He's a good dude, that just has some problems with grades.

He is a monster. I actually played with him a year myself when he had transferred and he was on our JV team due to him having to sit out a year. He would be a great prospect if the Vols would do like Kentucky did and wait on him. I mean running a 4.8 at 320 is astounding. Hope the best for him

Couple of little tidbits I can tell you about him.

- He reads the interwebz. Primarily CoachT, but if he found this thread, it wouldn't surprise me.

- Heard that Pete Carroll personally called about him. Do I believe it, why not. It seems believable.

- Grades, as I've said before, are an issue with him. Can't tell you much about that, beyond that, never saw any report cards.

- Funny guy. Not a cut-up in practice or anything, but he does joke around in school. Nothing wrong with that.

- As has been stated before, has a good motor, and plays with a ton of intensity.

- Can get to the play and break it up real quick.

on TOS a person is saying to watch out for him. Possibly even got his grades in order. He could help us out at DT. He def has the measurables. Let O get ahold of him.

If the kid can get on the field and do his work in the classroom, I have no problem giving him a scholly down the road. We are just to far along to start handing out schollies to risky grades.
