Sorry if already posted, but thought the armchair coaches out here could use some advice from one of the greatest minds in football.

"I don't know if I ever made a halftime adjustment in my entire 18-year career. I think that's the biggest myth in football- the halftime adjustments. You go in, you use the restroom, you eat a couple of oranges, and then the head coach says, 'Alright, let's go!'"- Peyton Manning

Yeah, he also said the best way to treat a burn is to just "rub some dirt on it." :)

Never know when to take Peyton serious.

Go Vols!

p.s. That dude is so football smart, he made all his adjustments between the huddle and the snap. You don't need half-time when you have half-snap. Heh.

Hmm, as I recall, Joe Milton has many oranges he can share with his team. 🤔

The level to which adjustments are made is typically overblown by the media to give them something to talk about during the game/halftime. You will make minor adjustments during any game and halftime is the easiest time to do that.

But there’s rarely something major being done and if it is, it normally means the game is out of reach anyway

One of the former players on the SEC Network made a big deal about this earlier this year also about how it was way overrated as a thing by fans.

Whatever. I watched Moxon and Kilmer fight and then there was a big adjustment in the locker room both personal and schematically at halftime. The entire game plan changed. It depends on the coach and players.
The first real emergence of the "Air Raid" during the 2nd half.

Greatest halftime adjustment ever. Mutiny against the Head Coach. Install a whole new offense. Tell the RBs to take the rest of the night off. Mox doesn't get enough credit for incorporating the Hurry Up with the Oopty-Oop. Go fast . . . get Tweeder isolated in space. Kilmer just couldn't see it.

Usually when you see a team plays markedly better in the 2nd half the thing that got adjusted was their attitude. As someone else posted Al Wilson was a great "attitude" adjuster.

Actually, it was Lance Chambers that installed it. Come on???

How good would FSU have been had Lance not had Kilmer making him play with an injured knee? 2 Heismans and a NC!

The main thing that bothered me about that 2nd half . . . That offense was high flying and the defense was completely confused . . . yet they were still trailing 17-14 when they had to resort to the Hook and Lateral - clearly the greatest play call in the history of Offensive Coordinating.

Tweeder was drunk. Couldn't cover a child

One of the 247 beat writers (can't remember which one) alluded to this as well during the season. He said the halftime adjustments thing is way overblown, and that with all of the media timeouts and play stoppages, adjustments are being made on the fly all game long. Nothing really changes at halftime.

Right. I was about to say, for QBs like Brady or Manning there was no need for halftime adjustments. Some teams probably legitimately utilize them. 😂
