People seem to have been rippin the halftime show. I personally liked Paul McCartny. It was better than last years crap.

I thought it was awesome. He's a living legend among music circles. What songs did he play (in order)? I think I missed the first two, but I heard:

Drive My Car
Get Back
Hey Jude
Live and Let Die

Get Back was awesome to hear live. One of the greatest tragedies of rock is that The Beatles didn't do any live shows after 1966, and the recording equipment around back then really didn't capture just how good they were live. Some of those later songs like Get Back are flat out awesome live. The Apple Rooftop Jam was proof of that.

IMO, the people b&tching about the halftime show really just don't know anything about rock and roll. That was possibly the best Super Bowl Halftime show ever.

I think you're right. I was trying really hard to remember which came first out of those two.

Was Drive My Car the first song? I was taking out the trash and when I came in he had just started that song. Good song, just not a strong opener. But Hey Jude and Live and Let Die can't be beaten to close the show with.

Also, how cool was it that he was playing the Hoffner Bass?

I agree. McCartney was much preferred to Janet and Justin, or even Aerosmith, Backstreet Boys and various other Hip Hop "Artists" wrestling for the microphone while screaming at the top of their lungs and calling it music.

(How old do I sound) :shakehead: My gawd! I've become my father!

Aerosmith wouldn't have been bad . . . if Britney Friggin' Spears hadn't stepped up to sing a duet during Walk this Way!?!?!

Why do event organizers feel the need to hold a 20 minute concert during halftime anyway? There just aren't too many artists who can pull off something like that.

Yeah McCartney was better than last year.

Hey but what about that pregame show with the blind and deaf kids. I thaught it was bad the way the camera man would get a close up view on the blind children and just watch them.

McCartney was much better than anything MTV has done. I was the only one at the house the I was at that enjoyed the show. Of course, these are people that would rather listen to Justin Timberlake than the Beatles. Morons.

I thought it was by far the best SB halftime show I've ever seen! I'm just glad Paul did'nt have a wardrobe malfunction! :)

They joked about that on Weekend Update on SNL the night before. Amy Poehler said "While the show will not be as racy as last year's featuring Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake and produced by MTV, I have it from high authority that at the end of the set McCartney will whip it out."

Why don't they just scrap the halftime crap and play an extra quarter of football in the Super Bowl?

I'm only seventeen and I think McCartney's music is great. The Beatles are not beyond anybody's time; They are timeless.

I saw McCartney at the GA Dome a few years back. He always flies solo. No opening act. Just 3.5 hours of got my money's worth music. He was awsome, and always will be. The Beatles were before my time. I was born near the end of their existence as a group, but I always loved their stuff. He has one of the best live performances you will see outside of Bon Jovi.

Looked like Mcnabb made more money taking a dive than he would have with a victory bonus. I've never seen anyone with his supposed talent make such awful passes down the stretch to wide open receivers 10-20 yards out. Wobbling lame ducks behind the receivers. For someone that posted over 350 yards passing to look that awful down the stretch on easy plays just looked fishy.
