Halloween Kills

David Gordon Green and Danny McBride took this over with the last movie, this one will also be good I would wager.

This movie has the potential to be the best Halloween sequel and the greatest slasher movie because John Carpenter described the movie as a slasher movie on steroids.

This movie will have more kills, won’t have references to movies that aren’t in the Blumhouse continuity, will have a hopeless tone, and no doubt Michael Myers kills characters early in this movie.

Also very dumb that Universal decides to give you he sequels original names that is Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends because they didn’t give the direct sequel to (1978) Halloween a original name.

2018 Halloween
Halloween 40 Years Later
Michael Myers returns 40 Years Later

They can’t seriously say those original sensible names could not have been used.

Add it to the list of franchises that need to go ahead and die off. Right next to Fast and Furious.

I would disagree because the Halloween movie franchise with the Blumhouse movies have new territory.

Most of the Fast and the Furious are very uncreative extremely dumb action movies that continue to show the same ridiculousness because the main characters aren’t harmed or killed in action scenes because of awful writing including Dom had no reaction to his head breaking some area of a door, and ridiculous car scene.
The Fast and the Furious movie series should just have the information set in a cartoon universe because of the hugely ridiculous physics, and Roman recapping the ridiculousness of what the main characters have survived without able to give a plausible explanation.

As a huge fan of the Halloween movies, for me Halloween (1978), Halloween 2, and Halloween H20 IS the official trilogy and it ends there. Everything else is fan fiction. Some of it I like, some of it I don't. I thought Halloween 2018 was complete trash and I don't have a lot of confidence that this will be much better.

It would probably benefit you to stop taking movies so seriously.
F&F movies are catered to the same group of people since the beginning and they still flock to the theaters or Vudu. I dont blame them one bit for sucking every dollar they could out of the franchise. If we are still getting Terminator movies why not car movies that nobody dies in and have the same plot

They still need to do a Freddy vs Jason 2 with Meyers.

There is potential there to make some money

Give me a damn break.

Fast and the Furious movies use to be about illegal street racing then changed astronomically to be The Italian Job style movies then Mission Impossible style movies with cartoon physics.

When the main characters can’t get killed or hurt in a movie it’s a very damn boring movie with no suspense.

The Die Hard movie series, The Running Man, the Indiana Jones movie series, Speed, John Wick movie series, The 2 Young Guns, Predator and Predator 2, etc have suspense because the main character or main characters can get hurt and can die.

Then you really should because I do not have any reason to think this will have references to movies that aren’t canon in the Blumhouse Halloween continuity.

The movie will have a high amount of kills and most likely Michael Myers will be shown killing most characters on screen.
Most likely Michael Myers will win in this movie.

Also persons won’t be waiting long for Michael Myers to start killing in Halloween Kills.

Agreed completely.

However, strictly as movies standing on their own I thought Halloween 4 > Halloween 2. Although I hated that ridiculous mask from 4.

I too am a huge fan of 4. Especially the opening. And yes that mask was horrible! It looked like one of those cheap knock off masks you'd get on clearance at CVS Pharmacy!

I used to try to mental gymnastic my way into making all the movies the same "canon" but gave up. I now just think of them like multiverses.

And it actually ends for me after Halloween 2. I didn't care for H20 that much and Resurrection is straight garbage. The RZ movies are.....meh. The last one was decent. Halloween 4 I actually thought was pretty good, and Halloween 5 isn't bad. The Curse of Michael Myers though.......it's in so bad it's good territory.

H20 I thought was pretty good. It's definitely a 1990's movie but I thought it worked. The only knock I have with it is no Dr. Loomis but Donald Pleasance had died so its nobody's fault. I really liked the ending with the decapitation because to me, that was the definitive "exclamation point" on the end of the series!

I didn't realize how big of a cult following that movie has, but apparently it's a whole ass thing.

Have you ever seen the alternate version with the rocks and rituals and all that stuff?

H20 is odd to me. Quality wise I would say it's the best sequel while simultaneously being the least rewatchable. Like if I'm flipping through channels and I see that 4, 5 or 6 is on I'll usually stop and catch some of it. But with H20 it's like I watched it twice and that's all I ever care to see of it lol.

I do like the ending though, and they never should have screwed around with it by making that abomination that followed.

Yeah, and I'm not sure I'd call it "better" but structurally it was. After watching the director's cut you can tell how hacked up the theater version was.

1, 2 and H20 actually do function pretty well as a trilogy. 4* could actually fit in the canon pretty cleanly as it plays off Laurie "supposedly" dying in the car crash which works going forward to H20. No need for 5 with the man in black setting up the cult of thorn, etc in Revenge. (don't even get me started on Resurrection) I didn't think '18 was THAT bad, though the "doctor gone bad" trope was already pretty tired.

*I understand there's the slight issue if one insists on mentioning the daughter aspect in H2O but that could be set aside as Laurie isn't mentioning that connection to anyone, even her son. The only other thing is that ending. They basically set the stage for Jamie to become the new Michael, or at least another Michael. It's still nothing that would keep it from working in canon with 1, 2 & H20.
