I saw the other day where some poll had this as the best scary movie of all time. Maybe its just me, but I don't think it is scary at all.

I wasn't alive in the late 70's when this came out, but why was it considered so good at the time? Lack of other options? Or just the first successful scary movie franchise?

It's not what I'd call "scarey" but they are saying it's the best killer flick of all-time.

I see movies like Silence of the Lambs as more scary. Horror flicks are generally amusing to me. The Devil's Rejects was hysterical.

I don't find it that scary. I just enjoy it more than any other "scary" movie. Like one poster said, its more of a killer flick.
