I'm going to shoot the next poster who lists Honeycutt, Helton, Babe Ruth, Joe diMagio or any major leaguer with ZERO college coaching experience.
Hiring any of these guys (whether you like them or not) would destroy what little was left of this program.
College baseball has little to do with pro.
Anyone making this suggestion proves they know nothing about college baseball and I'm embarrassed for you.
Actually, if we got a Garner, Honeycutt, etc, all they would have to do is hire assistants with college experience. Assistants do just as much, if not more of non-baseball stuff than head coaches do and recruiting wouldn't be too hard either with their MLB experience to pitch. Plus after a year, the HC would have all the basics down.I'm going to shoot the next poster who lists Honeycutt, Helton, Babe Ruth, Joe diMagio or any major leaguer with ZERO college coaching experience.

Hire Phil Fulamanure! He'll coach like heck!

Volnation is famous for.
Step 1....Take a non-Fulmer related issue.
Step 2.....Insert tired Fulmer joke.
Step 3.....Look like an idiot
To be honest, Phil Fulmer was a good baseball prospect at one time. Likely a better player than Raleigh was.
I know this will sound like a Fulmer defense but some of you guys need to turn the page.
