I dread my kids getting a peanut allergy since I usually eat some PB every day. So far they are haven't.

This is a misnomer. He really didn't discover peanut butter. An MD was using it for medicinal purposes years before.
He was responsible for Pioneering many other peanut related uses- but not the butter.

Truly an amazing man and mind!
Incredible even more as he achieved all he did being born into slavery.
But the myth still exists that he invented the butter- not true.
