Was it just me or did he look faster and quicker hitting the hole today. Of course Coker is still the man but I found this encouraging. It almost(tongue firmly in cheek) makes you want to believe the trainers when they say it takes time to recover from knee surgery. :whistling:

I think it was probably more of the fact Hardesty was playing against Vanderbilt than it was a light going off for him as far as hitting the hole faster.

Playing Vandy makes the whole team, the waterboys, the trainers, and the parking attendants all look better.

I still think hardesty and foster look to cut back more when they should hit the hole. there are times when you don't try and make people miss and just hit the gap. although the cutback by hardesty in the second half got a huge chunk of yardage they are still looking to do it way too much.

Well I wish it would have been like that last year. Vandy played a great season guys.

Vanderbilt University - Official Athletic Site

They played Arky closer than we did. If they win two more games they are bowl eligible, and that's not far fetched. I give Vandy props as well in beating Georgia.

But yes Hardesty looked good, and I think that him and Coker need to line up as split backs in the backfield and work tosses and screens to them because the other teams D would be kept honest and I think that is a wrinkle we need.

Well yeah but that sure didnt work for Foster.

I thought the same thing as the OP, and I also thought he looked "faster" last week too against Arkansas. Maybe his health is coming around, but Im also willing to bet his has extra motivation...Foster's arrest cracked the door open for him to get out of 3rd-string, and 2nd string rb is one inevitable injury away from starting.

I think Hardesty dances too much, kind of like Emmitt on Dancing With The Stars. Coker hits the hole quick, with a Ron Jeremy-esque furor.

Florida and Alabama probably thought the same thing.

I agree that Hardesty dances to much. I guess that is why it caught my attention that he didn't seem to be doing that as much yesterday. If Hardesty needed any motivation it should have been when he had the starting job and lost it against Florida.

UT Sports just reported that Arian Foster is 13 yards shy of breaking the single season lateral rushing record at UT.

Last three games I have noticed Hardesty not cutting back as much. Looks like he is running faster and with more vision.

Hardesty has had a lot of problems with his knee, swelling and getting water removed.
