Are flat out embarrassing. How Dooley still has a job at this point with no announcement from the AD is incredible. They keep lowering expectations each and every week, and if Hart waits until after Kentucky to fire this clown then he should be canned right along with him. Used to be a fan of Hart, but this situation shows he doesn't have the stones to make the right call. We're doomed. /rant

He is gone and Hart is contacting coaches and has through 3rd parties since the MSU game according to Hubbs. The firing is inevitable and he is seeking after coaches. Not sure what more you want. And Hart is the AD if you didn't know.

I'm aware, but not making a decision now is idiotic. If Dooley is here for UK, attendance will be around 60k at the most. Dooley's already cost us millions of dollars what's 5 more to get his ass out of town?

Why should anyone have any confidence in Hart? What has he done at Tennessee to give me hope? Just asking not trying to argue.

Attendance will be around the same either way. Here's a novel idea, let a real AD search for a coach and be prepared when he fires the coach. I know UT fans are not use to this with the dramas of previous coaching searches.

He has eliminated the wasteful crap and useless people in the AD, and he has stood up to Cheek and will get his way in the end something the moron before him allowed.

For christ sake simmer down you drunken sot. Dooley may not be much of a coach but he's a fine gentleman in all other aspects. Just because your not sated this instant doesn't mean things aren't going on. Show some class.

I'm just guessing but I'd say the decision has been made but the announcement has not. It will come most likely after the Kentucky game. I'm sure a coaching search had been well under way for a while.

Just arrived home again from my 5 hour trip to and 5 hour return to see my beloved Vols. At the rate we are going don't worry about stadium being filled next season. It will be filled w/ opposing fans enjoying our traditions, our great stadium, and a SEC victory.

If the focus is on Dools and his firing, it is off the coaching search, the new hire, and the new hire's staff. Don't see how it is a bad thing. With what the Doofus has done to our program and his big buyout he should be the punching bag to get part of our money's worth out of him IMO.

You are probably correct, WNCVol. This is a very complex situation and emotions are running high. This cannot be an emotional decision. It must be a calm, well thought-out choice regarding all issues, and there are many. Patience, my friends. There are better days ahead.

I don't see what good making an announcement right now would do, besides making a few fans happy. Do it now and you have to name an interim and we don't really have anyone that's likely any better than Dooley(I know how sad that sounds). Do it now and the team likely throws in the towel, so no bowl. Who cares about a bowl? The AD, we get money from the tv/bowl games and the more SEC teams in bowl games, the larger chunk of the pie.Do it now and the press is following Hart around trying to get him to talk. Candidates that are currently working don't want their names being discussed with games left to play.

In what other respect is he a "fine gentleman?"

I know he is a difficult man to work with judging from the number of assistants we lost last year, some for work paying less than they were making at Tennessee.

The lack of respect for him and most of the current coaches from our players is evident in every game we play.

Also believe the response to him from the '97 SEC Champs during their ceremonies speaks volumes.

Respect is earned. Dooley has done little or nothing to deserve it and as a man does not merit it at all.

The only classy thing left for him to do is to leave now.

People get over it. Gruden is not going to be the Vols coach.

Really?
I don't have proof that he will be.

You have proof that he won't be?
I'm not talking about common sense, I'm talking about proof, because you said, unequivocally, that he won't be.

Prove it.

Just sayin' ...

Hart's future will be sealed the second the new coach is named. He can go down in lore for saving the program, or be the one who could of finished it off.
