This seems like Hart is setting this up where his only candidates are going to be Jim Tressel or Bobby Petrino.. If he "tried" every other route who would fault him, once we start winning games who cares anymore. I'm all for it and if this is what he is doing, then genius!!!!

Hart could be secretly in cahoots with quite a few agents to work some raises as well.

I hope you are right OP. I was just making this argument at work. I want Tressel in Knoxville. Bottom line is that he knows how to win.

OR Hart could be doing all this to hire the guy that it is well known he's wanted to hire all year, Kirby Smart!!!

I'd take the risk of a possible death penalty with either the OP named before I'd ever watch another Vols team coached by a Saban disciple.

Hart will hire whoever Saban tells him to hire. Apparently Saban is busy and hasn't had time to give Hart his orders.

There is no masterminding going on here. There is alot of fail going on here.

Petrino has been the best coach out there from the beginning. Better than Gruden, Stoops, Petersen, Patterson, Fedora, Gundy, Tressel, Jones, Bielema, Strong, Mora, etc, etc...

It will be a blessing in disguise if we get Petrino.

Or maybe to press the refresh button on Dools and give him a mulligan. Would show Dools will be given time and the other coaches can't use it on the recruiting trail. Just sayin it's better than coaches using Petrino is an immoral dog to parents and the show clause stuff with tressel.

ATP....fulmer (with chavis only and his prevent def playbook chapter left in LSU desk for the next guy and keeping Chaney too), Dooley or smart????

Hart is an incompetent AD, we're pretty sure of that at this point. That said, there's a reason people don't want the TN job. This has become embarrassing

IMHO hart being incompetent probably isn't the highest reason on coaches list for why people don't want to come here. Just a hunch...he wasn't the reason why many coaches weren't knocking the door down yrs ago either. Just sayin..

People who think its harts fault are the same that think it was all DDs fault. UT was a hot mess prior to both of them and it's no secret amongst the coaching fraternity. Doesn't help having an irrational fan base that does want to accept/understand the situation the program is in and expects wins just based on our history. Coaches have seen this play out at ND for soooo long and they probably don't see us in as good as shape as what Kelly took over, so why would they be just one of the guys along the way???

Just IMHO that's all...

Hart didn't mastermind this...he was caught with his pants down. He hung on to Dooley too long hoping that things would get better while thinking he could get the fans and boosters to buy into Smart when/if he did have to make a move.

When Dooley proved woefully inept, Hart was forced to fire him without a "short list" of candidates to replace him. At the same time the boosters and fans came to the correct conclusion that another Saban assistant wasn't going to cut it. That left Hart scrambling.

He's scrambling still.
