You weren't the only one. Fantastic camera work at the end of the race apparently.

NASCAR announced today that Kevin Harvick, driver of the #29 Chevrolet and Jamie McMurray, driver of the #26 Ford, have been fined $25,000 each and placed on probation until Oct. 3, 2007 for being involved in an altercation with each other’s cars during this past Sunday’s Nextel Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway. The altercation occurred during the final caution period that came on the white-flag lap. Both drivers were found to be in violation of Section 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing – involved in an altercation with another competitor’s car during a caution period) of the 2007 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series rule book.(NASCAR PR)(5-2-2007)

Once again, if they aren't one of Nascar's favorites, they nitpick at every single thing they do. They won't bother to fine Jimmie Johnson for taking out cars in just about every single race, but they will fine Harvick and McMurray for bumping each other a little during a caution. Nascar has become a joke! :bad:

This is very true. Everyone talks about Smoke, but JJ does wreck a lot of ppl. A couple of years ago he wreck Jr. at 'dega, you talking about ppl being furious

I am almost convinced that JJ and Kyle Buschy have the same drivers rule book.

Rule Number 1:
Mash the gas and dont let up until the race is over or you rearrange the rear end of someone elses car.

Rule Number 2:
See Rule Number 1

Nascar is in love with JJ and are not gonna quit the favoritism until he has a Cup championship

He Got A Championship!

Sure he did, while he wrecked multiple cars in just about every race without getting fines or penalties. Nascar has made warning after warning about wrecking people and SOME drivers get in trouble for it and SOME don't. Jimmie Johnson has never gotten in trouble for it. Nascar has sent drivers to the back of the pack for doing a lot less than what he has done.

Calm down Jenn! I am with you on this! Go back and read his post. He acts if JJ hasn't won a title yet!

BTW was it me or did Nascar not throw the yellow until they made sure the 24 had passed the 26?

I know that you are with me, I just get riled up when it comes to Nascar favoring some drivers over others. LOL

It wasn't just you and this isn't the first time it's happened. Nascar waited and waited and waited. When Reutimann's engine blew, he was leaking stuff all on the track at that point and was also having trouble getting down to the apron because of all the cars trying to avoid him. The caution should have been thrown then, but NOOOOOOOO they waited until he had FINALLY made it down to the apron and Jeffy was in the lead. Then Nascar wonders why people get mad at the outcome. It wasn't only the favoritsm, but ending under a caution that got those people mad.

When I was watching the race I was wondering the same thing. This goes back to what Smoke was saying earlier in the wk. Even tho it wasn't a debris caution, it was a caution that ended up favoring the flame, but it was thrown pretty late

I just think it's odd that certain drivers win at certain times and yes I will include my driver in on this too. Dale Jr. won the race at the first race at Daytona after his dad died. After the Hendrick plane crash that happened while they were racing in Martinsville, the next time they were there, a Hendrick driver won. Jimmie Johnson (sponsored by Lowe's of course) always wins at Lowe's. Jeffy Gordon passes Dale Sr. in wins at Dega (which Dale Sr. pretty much owned) and on his birthday. I am sure that there are more but those are some that I can think of off the top of my head. I have gotten to the point where I believe wrestling is real and Nascar is fake. I watch it less and less every year. I honestly don't know why I waste my time watching it, but I do.

Crimedawg you dont miss much do you? It was a typo that I honestly did not see until now. I meant to type another championship. I honestly do not think NASCAR tries to "shape" a season toward certain drivers. I do however believe that they throw cautions a convenient times to keep the competition on the lead lap resulting in more good cars fighting for the win.

I don't think Nascar sets out to pick which driver they want to win each race and make it happen. That would be almost impossible to do, but like you said, they have the power to throw these cautions whenever they want to and it does influence the outcome of the race when they do that.

I 100% agree
