My guess is, Harvin will be healthy and ready to go when they come to Knoxville. Although, I could be wrong. He has struggled the entire fall camp and practiced sparingly with this injury.

According to the link, Harvin had some of his tarsal at the heel shaved to "slow an abnormal growth." Are we talking a bone spur here, or some sort of calcification going on? It sounds like the sort of condition that will return again and again throughout his career.

Although I am sure he will still have enough speed to be a threat if he can play against Tennessee.

This really does seem to be a nagging injury. What exactly was his injury?

I haven't found anything specific. It has to do with his heel, and a bone growth. So some sort of bone spur from hell is what I was thinking. But I don't really know. They are careful to not give out too much medical information about players.

This must be concerning for his potential pro career. Spurs are the kind of thing that you can do surgery for but never really go away.

Harvin will never be 100% again. He had a chunk of his heel removed.

That's not saying that Harvin at 85% is still not better than most.

In the college game yes but it should effect his status in the draft one would think.

If it really was a piece and not just a "shaving" (whatever that means anyway), I would have to agree with you. Perhaps some of it is psychological, though. I am sure it feels very different when he is running and making cuts if the actual shape of his bone has been significantly altered. And then there is the obvious pain aspect.

You can never trust Meyer when he talks about his players.
He will just be extra careful because he can.
Its like his player suspensions: he could never sit a player in a big game.
