I've been a long time reader, but just joined this year. I'm actually a Baylor fan from Waco but have always followed and like the Vols (Pat version that is). I did not join this forum to criticize or spread discord (not my style). But I can't help but see the dissatisfaction from the majority on here with Holly. Which I think is rather justified by the record, the lack of any recruits for next year etc.
However up until the Bama game there seemed to be a lot of defenders still holding on to hope that Holly was the answer. After this game they must have either switched over or locked themselves in a closet. I think Alabama has turned the Tide for many Holly supporters.

I know I don't have a dog in the hunt and maybe I should care less, but I am an avid WBB fan. And that's hard to be without having some distant admiration for Tennessee. I can't help but believe something will happen there by seasons end. Holly will surely step aside. She does not look like she is enjoying this at all. It is also obvious the players are just going through motions now. Many of you believe they are quitting on the coach on purpose and I must say it darn sure looks like. Losing to LSU and Bama is surely a low for this program. But it may be that Bama has actually turned the Tide for you. (pun intended).

The only thing left to play for is pride. However, when coaches dump on their players and say that it is not their job to motivate players, this is what you get. What future does it project when your coach cannot recruit, gets constantly out coached, and says she does not know what the problem is? Can you imagine Kim Mulkey making such statements? When players screw up on Kim you can see her in their faces coaching and showing them the errors of their way. That is not the case with Holly, it is either a pat on the rear and/or a pat on the back or you are left in the game to commit more screw ups. Now, as you saw last night with Diamond, she pulls you and gives you the silent treatment. Right now Holly is, as they say in the government, way past her pay grade.

They won a single game against a team that has already given up--- out of 43 straight and you think the "tide" is turning? Wow, I guess when we beat the bammerz next season in football we will be dominating the series according to your logic...

So Texans believe in quitting when the going gets tough?

Don't think that's what the OP was getting at.

It's like Dooley losing to Kentucky. Anybody that was still supporting him at that point pretty much changed their mind after the loss

Some of you missed the point completely. It isn't the CrimsonTide that has turned the corner. It is public opinion from many of Holly's long-time supporters that seems to have changed in the last 24 hours.

Eggzactly. Not sure how they missed my point. Must have only read the title. I guess I should have said, "Has the Alabama loss turned the Tide for Holly supporters." Maybe that would have been a little easier to comprehendo.

Thanks for the post and for stopping by. You and are similar in that we both love the sport and respect the hell out of what Pat built at UT. I've posted a few times this season that Holly gets another chance based on history and moderate success her first few years. However, last night definitely changed my view. She needs to go at the end of the season. Maybe some of the players do as well, but Holly and her staff cannot continue to keep the train going or there will be no program left. Warlick has lost the team and while the players definitely deserve some blame, the truth is Holly assembled, recruited most of these players, and is the face of Lady Vols basketball. I am sad her tenure had to end this way. While I didn't expect a NC with the currently assembled roster verses the one at UConn, I hoped a Final Four was in the cards with enough momentum to turn them into a power squad next year. Additionally, I only want players who want to be part of the solution to stay, no matter what their pedigree may be.

Alabama's womens basketball team will never turn the Tide, as you say. And that is because it is treated as a Title IX program they maintain so they can have a corresponding program for men. All you have to do is look at the gym they make them play in to see the truth in that. A large portion of the power 5 schools have intramural facilities larger than that. There may be some of the larger churches that have gyms bigger than that. And although I hate Alabama, I find it a crying shame for their program.

But more to your point, the big reason Baylor, UConn, Notre Dame, and all the other universities have the caliber of Women's basketball program we enjoy today is due to the example set by Pat. Many coaches are a part of the foundation, but Pat is the cornerstone. She hung more championship banners in TBA than all the other programs at Tennessee combined had during her tenure.

So yes, Lady Vols fans are upset, and changes need to happen. The fact that fans like you from other programs can see that shows our dissatisfaction has merit. Watching Pat's teams, win or lose, was usually exciting. And you planned you day around being at the game or at your television. This year, it is painful to watch the Lady Vols. It is less about winning and losing, but more about a lack of effort and organization. And it is getting to the point where fans avoid or dread watching them play. That is a big indication changes need to happen, and happen soon. Otherwise the program will quickly become irrelevant.

Almost like Brittany Spears out in public in a bikini. Nobody wants to see that anymore.

Turning the Tide isn't meant to be they are now the better program. Turning the Tide about your feelings for Holly and the direction or the future of the program is what was meant by the question.

I get that now. Even thinking about how the Lady Vols are playing makes reading comprehension difficult.

If Holly remains coach the future is bleak.

^^^^ This, and it would be wonderful if many others on here could have figured this out when reading the original post.
