This is not a flame Ainge thread! But has anybody else noticed that his passes are late or thrown behind the receiver? Even the short ones! The receiver has to wait on the ball most of the time. It hasn't really hurt him to this point, but could be a future problem!

I'm not seeing this at all. Ainge has looked pretty accurate to me.

I have noticed this some, but it isn't an every time thing. He did it twice against UF. The first pass of the game that was picked off was thrown late. If he would have thrown it half a second earlier it would have been a TD. He had another play against them in the endzone that was almost picked off that he threw late. I think that is something that will be corrected. No QB plays mistake free. He is still having one of the best years of any QB in the nation.

I've seen Meachum save his ass atleast three times and throw behind him which shoulda been a TD the first drive against FLA!

It could start to be a problem. Cause if defenders catch on...Then they'll have a better shot of Picking off Ainge

I have not seen it as a problem. ALL qbs will have some late passes. He is no exception. A lot of the time when a QB is late on a pass it is because his initial reciever is not open or protection breakdown has happened. Also don't forget that there are plays called for the qb to throw behind the reciever and allow him to cut back. EA is doing fine and getting better each week.

Ainge is doing a nice job at quaterback. He is no different than any other quaterback. They all miss recievers and some passes are thrown behind.

It has happened some. That said, I think sometimes he gets rushed and he trys to get rid of it , meanwhile the receiver hasn't even started to turn to look for the ball.I also noticed in the early part of the season,he and his receivers, including Coker, weren't on the same route.Specifically one time in UF game Ainge threw to Coker and instead of turning in toward the sideline about 15 yards down, Coker turned and took off for the endzone. This was a huge play that could have been big.I think it was due to not playing together enough.I have seen alot of improvement overall. No complaints here.

It is a good thing you are complaining about a couple of passes for a QB that now is rated 5th in the nation. It is not lost on me that he is rated 5th because of the help of Meachem and Swain. It is a great combo. Ainge now knows he can throw it to an area and his guys will fight for it. Nine out of ten times we have come out on top. Many good QBs do this.

He has shorted Meach a few times, but not like it matters. He's only gonna get better as the season progresses.

I'll take a little behind the receiver once in a while versus 10 feet over his head any day of the week.

i think that most qb's and wr's would tell you that sometimes the qb does everything right, and WR can still drop the ball, and sometimes the qb will not do it right and the WR still bails the qb out...

i dont' think this is a real big issue...he isn't going to throw perfect passes each down, and when he hasn't so far, most of the time, the WR has gone after the ball and gotten it...that's what the WR's are supposed to do...

cause sometimes it's a good think if the qb puts the ball in a conspicuous spot...giving only the WR a chance at the ball.

Right now, i can't argue with Ainge's performance one iota.

Yeah he has made quite the improvement there! and it does ease my mind to know that Ainge has come so far in the last year that he is intentally throwing em late!

If I were crimedawg, I'd be more concerned about the poor performance of the uga qb's that struggled against 0-5 colorado and Ole Piss...then the outstanding play of our 14 td, top ten in ypg and efficency qb who an msnbc article recently mentioned as someone who should be getting heisman recognition.
