LSU had 2 losses when they won the title in 2007. Would have had a third if Ainge hadn't thrown those 2 fourth quarter picks.

Yea that one hurt but not as bad as LSU in 2001 I'm still hurt about that game I think we would have won a second national championship even against Miami

My point is that it's dumb to lament our record against national championship teams because, by definition they don't lose very much to anybody.

UT beats the U pretty handily in that game IMO...Tennessee was THE best team in the nation that year and managed to screw it up...

Would have been an amazing assemblage of talent on one field. If I remember correctly 18 of our 2001 starters eventually played in the NFL. I'm sure Miami was about the same.

I would give the coaching edge to Fulmer over Coker, but that Miami team was vicious, not sure we would have won that game.

We didn't play Auburn in the 2010 season. We played them in 2009 and had a 4th quarter rally come up short.

EDIT: We did, however, play both Alabama and LSU in 2011.
