I say yes. He has been a beast so far this year. Unstoppable. He is causing havok in backfields and keeping constant pressure on opposing QBs.

The Titans are second in the league in rush defense. Sixth in points allowed and they are ninth in total defense. They were dead last a year ago. I think this starts upfront with a revitalized Haynesworth. Great to see him finally living up to his ability.

Kevin Williams in Minnesota, Marcus Stroud and John Henderson of Jacksonville (but Albert outplayed them in week 1) and Jamal Williams in San Diego are the only ones that can touch him.

If not he's damn near it

Do you mean David?

I think he means Andre Gurode. Cowboys center.

It's funny how a contract year will do that. AH has been nothing short of great this year but you have to wonder if A. The Titans can resign him and B. If they do will he continue to put forth this kind of effort when his contract is not running out at the end of the year?

Typical contract year type of play. I was wondering when someone was going to point that out. :salute:

I think Henderson is the best DT in NFL football. I remember Tony Dungy saying that JH was the best 3 gap DT he has ever seen. Yes 3 gap, JH is incredible! Keep in mind that Haynesworth is in his contract year with the Titans. We will see over the next couple of years.

Say what you want about the guy or how bad the game was or even how bad the opponent was, but Albert's goal line play last Sunday was incredible for a guy his size.

That was just sick. I have never seen anything like it. The defense as a whole was great but I thought I was seeing things when AH made that play.

That's what I'm wondering. It is a big risk/reward situation. Is the fire only there for this year or has things finally clicked? Can he stay clean on the field? I say give him an extension because who else can we lean on in the middle. That is unless we can pick up a big time DT in FA.

If they want to keep him they better lock him up now. There is no way he is back once he hits the market and the ridiculous offers start flying in.

You are probably correct. As a matter of fact, I heard an interview with Mike Reinfeldt a last week in which he mentioned the franchise tag when asked about the AH situation. He never came out and said they would use it but it wasn't hard to read between the lines.
