Has O'Brien replaced Hood as the starter?

Maybe it was just a switch to add more size at DT (next to Big Dan), but did anyone else notice that O'Brien seemed to get a lot more playing time than we've seen before? I mean, up until the UGA game, Hood got about 80% of the snaps. But in this game, it sure seemed like the staff switched to O'Brien rather than Hood, as the starter (for most of the 2nd half).

I was impressed with O'Brien against UGA. He didn't make a lot of tackles but he affected several plays in the second half with either penetration into the backfield or pushing his blocker backwards and opening up holes for the LB's.

Im pretty sure he's just part of the rotation now with Saulsberry out.

Yep. I noticed him driving his guy back allowing AJ to get through on that play where Jacques also broke through on 3rd down and short.

That back had nowhere to go.

I know he's in for punts. Looks like a big bowling ball in front of palardy.

Starter or not he's getting more snaps and looks better and better. We need him to step up so great to see.

If you watch O'Brien the O-lineman gets stoned where he is or pushed back. If you watch Hood, he gets moved 4-5 yards backwards within 2 seconds if he can't get through a gap. Hood plays too high. O'Brien plays the position lower and better. If not starting in the next game or two he will be playing more and more snaps and take the position over.

True story I saw o'brian and and Cody blanc last night at calhoun's on the river, I was I was setting next to them and they were talking about the game and both of them
Still seemed very disappointed. It was nice to see how much they actually care about ut football and the success of the program. On a side note O'Brian really didn't look as big as I thought he would, I mean I'm 6'4 285 but still thought he was closer to that 300 range. My wife was the one who said I looked bigger than he did.

The refs really are blind these days, huh?

Maybe you've been eating at Calhoun's more often than O'Brian has.

I thought Big Dan had a good game. He had a couple of good tackles on backs trying to run up the middle. Can you imagine that dude falling on you when you weigh 170 like Greene?
