After Ainge figured out that it's legal to throw the ball to Foster, they moved down the field.

Well, he was really forced to be a gunslinger today. We passed the ball 46 times and ran it 21 times. He still managed to complete 61% of his passes, and there were some dropped balls. So, yeah, he threw some picks, but still had a solid game on the whole.

Yeah he racked up those yards without any really long passes either. Just picked them up on a bunch of mid range and short passes.

He reminded me of Peyton Manning, even though he throws picks, he doesn't alter his gameplan at all.Picks are bad but the whole idea is to win the game, not how many picks/turnovers you had.61% against possibly the best defense we faced all year is remarkable.

That's the difference this year compared to last year. Ainge's head doen't explode when he screws up. He just goes out there and executes the next play. Also, as it has been pointed out several times in other threads, his running down the Bama player who intercepted his pass was a great sign that Erik is a real competitor now. Last year he might of dropped his head and pouted.

Go Vols.:peace2:

BTW, what did you guys think about the phone call between Ainge and Cut that CBS showed. Loved how Cut complimented him on getting it down there, and then became businesslike in how to move forward. I definitely believe how Coach Cut reacts to Ainge is reflected in how Ainge reacts to the team - witness his confidence in the last drive..

That was neat.It showed the psychology approach of Cut's coaching ability.

I just got word...

Ainge completed another pass to the fullback on a flat route. Five yard gain, second down.

Did I say it was? It's all they gave us, and we took advantage of it.

I'm still joyous after that 6-3 s***fest of a game last season.
