Yeap T.C.U finally lost that close game they have avoided a few times this year .But if anybody needs reminded what a warrior on the grid iron looked like .look no further than T.C.U Max Duggan..the dude gave every last drop of gas he had.people at the end of the 4th his legs where jello .He should remind alot players that they are playing for the love of the game...Now vol nation it will be time yo take to the airways .because the committee will bump bamer up in the playoff now ..if any 2 loss team should be in .it should be the big orange .

We’ll get ready then, Sabans on the halftime show of Michigan and Purdue begging to get in.

I think he actually made a fair argument, lol, not that I want them to get in but he is right about who would be the favorite..

He was favored against us and LSU and blew it. Bad argument.
As far as who would be favored between them and TCU, Id say they would be favored to win, its a fair argument, I hope it doesnt play out in Alabamas favor but as far as what he could have said to sway the vote I think he made a fair point, I was disappointed in TCU today, I thought they would have played a better game.

I think Duggan being assisted off the field after the last drive was his version of Woodson's Heisman pose in the end zone.

Yeah it’s honestly pathetic that Saban can sit there and act like his team deserves to be in the playoff.
It's his job. They don't belong. But people complaining about it are dumb. It's literally his job. Of course he's doing it

Obviously it’s his job, Heupel would do the same thing given the opportunity. Doesn’t make it any less pathetic.

The question is, would the powers that be, allow Heupel that chance on a nationally televised platform, to do the same? We all know the answer to that.

Except that’s not a criteria and exactly why the game is played. He was favored in Neyland and Death Valley too….
No one said it was a "criteria" I said it was a good argument and it was, they are favored in every game they play but for good reason, they win most of them and to be honest if you dont think they would beat TCU your just hating on them because they would beat TCU's pants off and if the idea behind the playoff is to get the best teams in then he made a good argument, the crappy thing is we could make the same argument and it would be true for us as well.

The sad thing is is that Duggan wasn't the starter at the beginning of the season. Chandler Morris (Chad Morris's son) had beaten him out for the job. Duggan's stock won't get any higher than it is now so he should enter the draft after the playoffs and TCU will still be in good shape at QB for next season.

But because there is a criteria you can’t argue away from that. His resume doesn’t justify being in this year and he knows it that’s why he argued in favor of their Vegas standing and their last 3 games. If it’s who would be favored against each other, you could go back 3 week and potentially have 3 SEC teams in. And I agree Bama would beat TCU, I also think TCU is more than capable of beating Bama this year. This Bama team is not that good. They have a great QB who makes them better than their talent suggests. Hence why losing him vs AM almost led to a home loss despite having 20 more 4* or better amongst the other 21 guys. They used to be able to win despite their QB, this team can only win because of their QB.

I was just referring to the interview they did with him on Gameday, I think its the only real argument they have but its fair to me, I think they would roll TCU and maybe Ohio State but it doesnt matter, ifs and buts, candy and nuts and all that.

Wow, this thread sort of drifted away from OP's intent. Yes, Duggan was impressive. Probably the grittiest performance I've seen in years. I thought he wasn't great in the only other game I watched, Texas. I was very biased against TCU watching that, because at that point, it was before we laid an egg at USCe. I mignt have to revisit that. He was carrying the team on his shoulders against K-State. Very impressive. Of course I'd put Hendon in there for Heisman, but if it came down between Duggan and Bennet, Duggan all day.

I agree it’s an interesting way to look at it and it’s the only argument he has. But he has to know that it’s settled on the field, as evidenced by his team being favored in 12 out of 12 games and losing 2 of them. It’s also disrespectful for him to go out there and not so subtly diminish what other teams in front of him accomplished. The lobbying is pathetic in and of itself. You contrast that with what Heup said after SCar and knowing we were done.

“This one needs to hurt…Let it hurt and remember that as you move forward and let it help you grow.”

“Had an opportunity here and didn’t take advantage of it.”

Instead of taking that approach, Saban is out there narcissistically touting wins over OM, APSU and AU as “three quality wins to close out the season”.
