10 Teams To Watch:

1. Louisville-Injuries decimated them last year. If healthy, Pitino has more than enough talent on hand for a return to the top 20.
2. Virginia Tech-All five starters return for a team that has lost an uncanny number of close games the last two years. It's now or never in Blacksburg.
3. Mississippi State-Took their lumps with an achingly young team last year. They'll get some revenge this year.
4. Oklahoma State-Padre Sutton left some very nice talent on hand for young Sean.
5. Purdue-A gut call. In a down league, Matt Painter's squad will make some progress.
6. Hofstra-Arguably the best team last year in a conference that produced a Final Four participant. Loren Stokes is the real thing.
7. Houston-Tom Penders continues to load up on high scoring talent.
8. College of Charleston-Bobby Cremins inherits the most talent in the Southern Conference.
9. Drake-The darkhorse of the MVC.
10. Loyola Marymount-A legitimate contender to Gonzaga's WCC throne. Brandon Worthy would be a household name if he played in the Pac 10.

How long do you think it will take for Ole Miss to become a legit contender in the SEC under their new coach, if they do at all?

I think Andy Kennedy will have the Rebels contending in the West by the '08-'09 season. He's a tremendous recruiter and a sound floor coach.

Word up... I need to get some tickets. A lot of them will be tough to come by. Gonzaga's visit to University of Portland is sometime in January, always tough to get. Oregon vs. Nebraska in this year's Pape' Jam at the Rose Quarter. LSU takes a trip to Corvallis on December 17th. I think LSU goes to Washington, too. Then there's always those teams conference games vs. Arizona and UCLA.

I'd say the entire country is looking at Va Tech today.

Ok, this bothers me....not because I think it's inacurate - because we kick off the season with them tomorrow. That - and Hat knows his hoops...

I saw the Bulldogs here in Miami about a month ago. They're improving, but a solid effort on our part will be enough at home. I am glad we don't go to Starkville this year. Some teams are going to have long nights there this SEC season.

I should have said Conference play instead of season, but you get the idea.. hopefully Pearl can get the boys motivated for this one.

How do you feel about your #1 team though hat? I've been thoroughly unimpressed by Lville this year.
Hard to do much when you never have your best players healthy. That said, they crushed Providence yesterday and still have a good shot at making the NCAA tournament.
