The #11 team just keeps dominating, is he the threat to Jimmie's championship hopes?

Some of the prognosticators picked Denny to unseat Jimmie. Will Denny be at the top after the first 26? He could be with 5 wins. Jimmie has 3. Kyle and Kevin are struggling. If Jimmie is in the top 3 starting the CHASE, he'll make it competitive. Any driver who wins at least 2 of the races or has the most consistent finishes in the top 5 without a win will win it.

Racking up several wins in the first 26 looks good but putting it together for the chase is a different story, ask Kyle Busch or Carl Edwards.

The 48 has to lose the championship at some point but they've also been known to start their season on race 27.

It looks that way now but as mentioned winning and finishing better than the 48 before the Chase hasn't worked out that well.

All he asked is is there a challenger, yes there is, didn't say Hamlin would win or not.

Denny Hamlin is a challenger for the championship.

The question should be can the #11 team maintain their momentum through the Chase? Kyle Busch dominated the pre-chase season only to lose it's steam in the chase while the 48 team comes on it's strongest. The same thing happened with Carl Edwards and Kasey Kahne, and to a lesser extent with Tony Stewart last year. Is Hamlin peaking to early, or can he sustain? All he has to do is win.

The knock on the 11 team up until this season is they seem to fold when pressure situations occur. I don't truly think I'll pick Johnson to lose or even consider until after about 6 races into the chase.
