Watching him the last couple of drives, he was exhausted. Vols couldn't run the hurry-up because they had to wait for him to come to the line. He was slow when pulling and couldn't seem to catch his breath. Missing time due to injury its understandable that he's out of shape. The coaches should have rested him for a couple series in the 2nd half.

I noticed that too he had a couple of penalties and was beat many times.

A lot of terrible coaching this game. Not way around it

Noticed Heards facemask/shield was crumpled up or somthing and looked odd. One of out other players tried to adjust it for him but it still looked jacked up.

Last night was his second complete SEC football game. He filled in against Auburn last year at LSU when starter was hurt. He has very limited SEC experience and like Nico, he is learning on the job as it goes. This year looks like a learning year for both of them as they experience SEC football.

That’s fair. Unfortunately now that players are being paid like professionals the expectations are higher. We expect a 5 star prized portal guy to be plug and play at a high level but maybe we shouldn’t.

When you look historically, 50% of 5 star QBs fail to live up to their high school ranking.

Once schools are required to pay all the players (not just the few who get NIL) fans expectations are going to be over the top. Unfortunate because 17-19 year old kids will fail more than be successful. Doesn't matter that they are paid, just the way it happens.

We should expect it. That, or having someone competent already in the program in year 4 to be ready to go.
