I haven't seen this mentioned yet...

While we didn't think the heat/humidity would be a factor since it cooled off and the humidity dropped, the Cal bench still had those "Cool Zone" mist-spraying fans set up, running from the pre-game warmup on, despite the fact they were on the shaded sideline. Our guys were in the sun with no Cool Zones, fans, or anything (I actually thought the weather was perfect).

Could the Cal team actually be THAT under-conditioned as well???

In any case, kudos to the Vols and the fans for a fantasic old-fashioned, woodshed beating Saturday.

I don't think the heat was that big a deal, but your post does raise a question . . . We are the only team I've ever seen that has it's home sideline on the sunny side of the field. I've always wondered why the heck we do that?

To go to the other side I think UT would have to move its student section. I think there is a rule about student sections not being able to be by the visiting teams bench in the SEC. Somone correct me if I am wrong about that.

Ut had to change which side of the field they stood on after the NCAA said you could not have the student section behind the visiting team. Easier to move the team than change entrenched booster seating!

yeah, i remember when they changed that...was in 92 or 93? apparently some raucus students couldn't resist throwing empty bottles at opposing teams just sitting there???:whistling:

I watched the replay last night; I was surprised to see someone threw a bottle at Meach after the shorter TD. I also noticed that if Coker had of used his speed to the outside he could of scored on third down at the four or five yard line. The guy does seem to be much faster than the others, but he also seems to be much smaller. Ryan Karl may not be the biggest or fastest LB we've had, but he's a player.
