Politics - VolNation

The football forum is already crazy enough.

thanks.

sorry for bringing more discord to the tennessee football board than steve spurrier, urban meyer, nick saban, or bear bryant could do on their best days.

i know this thread will go crazy, but did not see the politics board.

Guys make no mistake about it, if Pelosi and Hussein needed Shuler's vote, they would have got it. They allowed him to vote no just for political cover. We need to hang this vote around every dem on every level of gov't for as long as we are still a country.

At least Heath can't be bought, at least not on this issue. I wonder how many of those Dems bank accounts magically got bloated overnight. Man this makes me sick. The Mob doesn't have nothing on Washington or that's where all the mob reside these days. Hell, even the mob has more sense than these goofballs.

He doesn't have to be bought, like I said if Pelosi and Hussein needed his vote, he would have voted for it. They had enough votes so they gave him political cover. Now he can go back home and say he didn't support the bill. I just hope the voters in his district are smart enough to realize this.

How do you know that Shuler would have voted "yes" if they needed his vote? Why would they give him political cover but not some of the others?

I don't like the bill either so I understand why you're upset but I don't think Heath would vote for it.

Well she had to have 216 votes, so when she knew she knew she had the votes she allowed some who needed the cover to vote no, because she knows they will be in a dog fight this November. Every dem in the house would have voted for it had Pelosi needed them.

He has been a no from the beginning.

Not so, he changed his public stance to 'undecided' last week.

He's been a Pelosi goofball since day one, he may talk out of the other side of his mouth when addressing his conservative constituency but in Washington he's just another Pelosi duck in a row.

Again, you guys have no proof that Shuler would have voted "yes." Your dislike for him has to do with him being democrat, and that's fine but it's not a fact that he would have voted for this bill and we should judge him on what he actually did and not what you think he might have done.

Heath Shuler might be big to us being a former Vol but what is he in the political world? Why would they be so concerned with covering for Heath Shuler when people like Bart Gordon are committing political suicide by voting yes? I don't understand how they pick and chose who gets to look good by voting no and who has to fight for their career by voting yes.

Bart Gordon is retiring and will take a job in the admin. so he has nothing to lose. Please don't believe that he would have not voted for it if he had to, trust me if Pelosi needed his vot he would have voted for it. She needed 216 votes, she got 219 so she can allow 30 or so who are going to be in really tough fights this fall to vote against it for political cover.

No proof but he did vote for Pelosi to be Speaker and has consistently supported her agenda.

Shuler is new on the political scene and is facing some stiff competition in this years election.

The Democrats want to lose as few seats as possible in the upcoming election.

Tanner is also 'retiring' and voted for the bill on his way out.

This surprised me, I am not sure what he is up to.
