There is no way Tebow should be in the top 5 this year -- but who?

It look it could be Colt McCoys year, but he need to really light up a couple of teams in the next two weeks.

I agree with both, but Colt struggled yesterday. I vote Berry

Book it... tebow will get it... waaaaay too much love from the media.

Charles Woodson won it for the very same reason a few years back... remember THAT?

THe hypeman sucks anyway... unless Hardesty gets consideration. :)

right now the true top 5 should be...

1. colt mccoy
2. jimmy clausen
3. mark ingram
4. todd reesing
5. tony pike

prolly three of those five won't make the final cut, but i still think if people take off the glasses and just look at the stats and what they mean to the team so far, this should be a good indicator.

I think Case Keenum should be the leader personally. Houston has beaten Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Mississippi State. I know Miss. St. is nothing special but Houston isn't exactly a power house.

Keenum's numbers on the season are 2,130yds 17ds 4ints.

The fewest amount of yards he has thrown for in a game is 359yds and his lowest completion percentage is 65.5%.

Houston did lose to UTEP but it wasn't because of Keenum. Keenum threw 76 times! Completed 67.1% of his passes for 536yds 5tds and 0ints. Unfortunately 41 with no interceptions wasn't enough because UTEP scored 58!

Not McCoy. He is having a terrible year. Honestly, if the Vol team that played Georgia yesterday played against the Texas team that played Colorado last night the Vols would have won. Texas was horrible. That 38-14 score was misleading. Colorado was winning late in the third quarter before Hawkins threw a terrible pick 6 to Texas.

2. Mitch Mustain
3. Joe Cox
4. Mike Hartline
5. Juice Williams

Now seriously:

Reesing and Clausen haven't played any real competition. Washington is decent, but comeback wins against Purdue are good for an "atta boy," but that's about it. If I weren't looking at the team's records and who they have played against, then I'd have to go with Reesing.

But that's like giving it to Timmy Chang...

1. Colt McCoy
2. Tebow
3. Reesing
4. Don't know... Tyrod Taylor, Clausen, Josh Nesbitt,

The kid from Miami is going to be a contender one day, but not this year.

McCoy's completed 70%+ of his passes. He's not having a year like he did last year, but nobody from a major program has really stepped up to dislodge him yet.

Gimmick offense in Non BCS conference with a loss to UTEP...
I dont think he has a chance

So CUSA and UTEP are better than Tech, Ok St. and Miss St.? Mississippi State almost beat LSU.

Also... McNair was in the running for the Heisman when he played for Alcorn State. I don't know why being in non-BCS conference would affect him for being in the running. McNair was in another division.

Tyrod Taylor has one HELL of an arm. Did you see that highlight on ESPN? Scrambles around, then throws a 30 yard LASER to the back of the endzone. There was no arc on that one, it was a straight line from his arm to the receiver. Great play. Does he deserve the heisman? Prob not

A dark horse might be Jacory Harris from Miami. He had that one bad game against VT, but if they were to somehow run out the ACC and continue putting up big stats like he has been, he could probably finish in the top 4 voting.

As for who wins it, I'm putting all my eggs in one basket. The heisman is going to Charlie Weiss' belt. It continues holding up week after week.

Jacory Harris is a year away, same as Tyrod Taylor. I could see both possibly being invited to the ceremony if they continue to progress, but I don't see either having a serious shot at it this year.

Keenum won't get the Heisman. It has nothing to do with numbers. Same thing for McNair. It's the system.

USC and Notre Dame have won 7 each, while historical powerhouses like Alabama and Tennessee have zero. That says all I need to know about the Hypesman. I'm not ever going to hold my breath for it.

And if they were smart they would move the ceremony to after the NCAA game because they've been getting burned repeatedly with spurned players showing the country who should've won the award.

That's funny! :eek:lol:

I agree with you that it's prolly McCoy.

1. Too much sentiment from the voters about TX & McCoy losing out last year due to weird Big 12 tie-breaker rule. Bradford injured, Tebone not doing very well & he already has a trophy.

2. With OK down this year, who will keep TX out of NC game? Don't get me wrong, I would love to see TX lose a bunch of games, but I don't see it happening.

3. ND will get embarrassed by USC (again).

Tony Pike is the Best QB in the country. I think he is number 1 now. and how about the ryan williams, he ran all over bama, and the U. he should be number 2

I think Tebow might win it again. With all the media hype he is sure to get a lot of votes.
Clausen is doing well but against terrible defenses. He will get his share of share of hype too though. With ND weak schedule I picked them to go 9-3 this year.

i know he's just a redshirt freshman but ryan williams from vt has been the most impressive player so far this year...he's leading the nation in rushing yards, has 9 td's, and is averaging six yards a carry...he's pretty much dominated.

Suh from Nebraska could get an invite if all the front-runners stay lukewarm and Suh keeps making huge plays.
