Look, give me some slack I have never deeply followed bball. Does Tennessee have a chance at the seccg this year with all f the teams in front in the east? How long away is the seccg? Thanks

its tournament style - probably not a good chance to get there - but stranger things have happened.

Theres 2 championships in bball. One for the season and then a tournament at the end. We have as good of a chance as anyone if we play like we did in big games this year.

. . . and neither of the championships really matter.

What? A conference championship is a conference championship. The tourney championship is sort of silly, since all it is is the prelude to the NCAA tournament, but winning your conference's regular season certainly means something.

Winning either the season or the tourney championship gives you a ticket to the big dance. Personally, I really like being a conference champion. Great on your resume.

But winning your conference in college football matters because you to play in a glorified scrimmage if you do. Winning the conference in basketball matters.

don't say it doesn't matter. thats what the players goal is this year. to win the sec championship regular season AND championship game

It seems to matter to the teams that win it every year. I would have to disagree and say winning the conference or conf. tourney of the league you compete in every year not only matters to the current squad but to the recruits that look up at the banners on their visits.
