Help wanted: Democratic campaigns cite labor shortages as Election Day approaches

Democratic candidates nationwide are struggling mightily to hire enough qualified people to run their campaigns, according to interviews with party political operatives, a staff shortage many of them say is the worst — and most frustrating — in recent memory.

In an election year when Democrats are already grappling with high inflation and an enthused Republican Party, the hiring troubles amount to a behind-the-scenes headache when the party can least afford it.

“As chair, it’s definitely the worst I’ve seen it,” said Jane Kleeb, chair of the Nebraska Democratic Party, adding that the shortage was a subject of conversation among Democratic Party chairs at a recent gathering.

Trump got fired from his job, he should submit an application.
On second thought, having "Insurrectionist" and "Grifter" as a job title is an automatic disqualifier.

democrats and those who vote for Ds are fond of admonishing employers that it is easy to find workers if the pay is adequate.

So, obviously these D campaigns aren't valuing employees, otherwise, no shortage. Right?

Maybe they could cut more checks and see if the staffers are willing to work from the comfort of their couches.

Hypothetically.... what if the staffing problem isn't largely based on people being used to getting free money. What if it is a reflection of them simply loosing support from a significant portion of their base?

Conservatives should all apply for the jobs, pretend to be liberal, and do a TERRIBLE job, then show up at the office on Election Day wearing a MAGA hat and offer to share their Chick-Fil-A with their coworkers 😂
I might be able to get away with that, actually. That is a clever strategy...

Republicans as a group know how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I wouldn't vote for about 20% of them.

It's always been so amazing that the GOP can be so inept when the dems have shown them year after year how to do things. Trump seems to have been the first to really get down in the mud and wallow with dems and beat them at their own game ... when he had some support; but to do that he had to basically break in and take the candidacy from the usual suspects - all of whom would have lost to Hiliary.

Guarantee you the independent voters will either be voting R or sitting this one out. Probably a good number of “blue dogs”…assuming they still exist.

Completely true. It’s almost astonishing the candidates that can’t “read a room”.
