17-14

Hard fought game on both sides. Both defenses made stops when they had to make them. Game could have went either way.

Go Big Red!!!

Was hoping Powell would win but congrats to Henry County. I wish they would have left those sirens at home though.

I am Henry County through and through and the sirens have been a part of HCHS football since I can remember. That is part of our tradition...like others have cowbells or horns. I can see where it could be irritating though... Congrats to HCHS for our first ever gold ball and Powell on one of the best playoff games ever.

I didn't say they were...I said as long as I can remember. But I stand corrected, obviously they were not a part of our tradition 85-87, but they are now....

Awesome football game. The 3 games being played tomorrow have a tough act to follow. That one was a classic.

how fast is henry co's QB? I think his name is ray. He looks like a blazer. Is he being recruited by anyone?

Was just trying to be funny, but, hey, whatever......peace.

You got me thinking about it...so now I am trying to find out. I have not followed football forever so it may be a short period of time that seems like forever to me...no hard feelings

Lol why is everyone complaining about the sirens?? They don't play them all the time... They only play them after the play is dead and after big plays.. Powell had plenty of opportunities to shut the sirens up.. It's much better than having a band play non stop throughout the game even when the ball is in play.. Congrats to Henry County! Couldn't of made me more proud! Great to see the gold ball in Paris where it belongs! ROLL RED ROLL!!! and GO VOLS!

He's pretty fast but lets just put it this way.. Before Najee Ray was QB at Henry County it was a person you should be pretty familiar with.. Marsalis Teague.. They both ran the same type of offense but if you go back and look at old footage on youtube you can see that Marsalis is probably a lot faster than Najee.. However.. Marsalis seems like he's got just average speed as a DB now.. It's a shame he couldn't of stayed at WR.. He's a natural playmaker on offense.. not so much on D.. I think Najee will probably play football somewhere.. Maybe MTSU, Chatt, or maybe even Memphis.. I don't think he's really being recruited by any big schools..

Signed with UT Martin.

They plan on keeping him at QB (wrong decision IMO, the kid's a flat out athlete).

Personally, I think he could've been a good WR or DB somewhere bigger like a Conference USA or Sun Belt school. Don't know if it was grade issues or what, but I was surprised when I heard it was UT Martin he signed with. I was thinking a Memphis, a MTSU, or an Arkansas State would've gotten after him. Oh well, best of luck to Ray at the next level. It was very fun watching him in Patriot red. :good!:

On a side note: Henry County had 13 players sign football scholarships. Excellent senior class. Gonna be hard to replace that bunch.
