Pelosi's new office is House's costliest by far

Nancy is the exact representation of an arrogant, elitist, out-of-touch-with-the-constituents, politician.

I'm sure a very low percentage of Americans can boast a home that is 3,075 square feet, but her highness needs a part-time office that large? Then there's the fact that it is in a Federal building. Wouldn't this be a building that was built with federal tax money, and yet, the taxpayers still have to pay for her to rent office space in it, in addition to her office space in DC and her flight back and forth from SF to DC.

I find this outrageous and disgusting! :eek:hmy:

Certainly not the kind of PR you want when the economy is down, people are struggling to find work, the peoples opinion of government is low and elections coming up fairly soon. Stupid move on her part, then again many elected officials do this very type of thing and hope the people never get wind.

The comments are interesting. Some of the lefties are blasting righty hypocrisy saying it's the free market at work and she's paying market rate. Ummm, a govt rep spending tax payer $ ain't exactly Adam Smith's vision in action.

I'm always amused when the statists use things that they vehemently oppose, like a free market setting prices, as justification for the actions of one of their "dear leaders", all the while completely shutting off the "feeling driven" point of view they usually follow blindly, like so-called concern for the little people. :p

yep, she bought carbon credits from Algore

Speaking of Al, it has come to light that his recent divorce proceedings were brought about because of an affair with Laurie David.

Laurie should either pay a visit to Victoria's Secret or never, ever again wear a dress with a similar neckline.

You don't think it's important to the discussion that the supposedly unbearable expense Pelosi is inflicting on the tax payers not really one at all?

17k/month rent
unlimited use of a Boeing 757 aircraft
214 thousand dollar bar tab in Copenhagen
tens of thousands spent on flower arrangements

in the grand scheme of things, the rent for her new office seems like small potatoes

I'd gladly take those small potatoes and live happily ever after, myself. Shoot, I'd be happy with half of those potatoes, but instead, I'm having to take from what few potatoes I have and send some of them into her and her cronies.

By the way, your avatar always makes me smile. :good!:

Pelosi's 757 (C-40) was far nicer and had better technological capabilities than any aircraft the JCS or even SECNAV had access to. They mostly used a C-32 (older model based on the 767 I believe). The SECNAV and several members of the JCS did have access to a C-40 but it wasn't nearly as decked out as hers.

I went on a trip with attaches (several were flag officers from major world powers) and we were thrown in a C-9 that had been in service for ~25 years. Several of the attache's wives had to leave cargo at the tarmac due to exceeding max takeoff load.

That was interesting.
