I was just watching Gameday from VA Tech and Kirky said he thinks Alabama might be the team to beat in the SEC. He said he thinks Alabama and Florida will play in the SECCG.

When all three of those guys were talking about who they thought was best, they didn't even mention us. Not at all, except to say we were a tough opponent on those other team's schedules.

They have already marked us off. I just about puked the whole time they were talking. Just makes me want to hit something. They are saying we are no longer a factor. Ranked #3 in the preseason and now they think we won't even win our division in the conference.

When you add the fact that they are in Blacksburg, I just felt SICK.

The Vols had better start putting things back together Monday night or I am probably gonna suffer a major football blackout syndrome...

And now, Kirky just called out Riggs and told him to come on out and play some college football...also the line...so we'll see!

They also mentioned that RS always gets the heat...Kirky said, "It's because of all that talent...people expect them to put up big numbers."

C'mon and get-r-done VOLS!!!!!!!

Bama has the favorable schedule with UF, LSU, and UT at home..we'll see how good they are next week with the Gators coming to town...should be a good one.

I hate ESPN as much as the next person, but to be fair, they didn't mark us off. We did with our performance against Florida. I personally think they could have said a lot worse stuff about us than they have since the loss.

I thought the crew actually made a spot on asessment of our performance/potential thus far this season. Everyone sees that we are stacked with talent yet not able to utilize it properly. They even commented on all the heat Sanders is taking. Herbstriet commented on that topic well saying "with all that talent you expect to see big numbers". I say "Amen, brother".

I don't know why anyone would consider us in the mix at this point. With FLA, LSU, and GA in the conference and two lackluster performances so far why would we be mentioned? All of the preseason hype was based on talent and potential and until this team lives up to the potential no one is going to pick us to win the SEC, myself included. Keep in mind even if we win out we need FLA to lose 2 SEC games to go to Atlanta. Nobody should complain about lack of respect this year because this team has not earned it.....YET.

Yeah, I mean have the Vols warranted anything other than being written off? They only won 17-10 at home against UAB, and lost 16-7 to UF, I think their analysis was pretty dead on, but I don't think people should write you guys off yet, even with UGA and UF ahead of you, weirder things have happened...

Herbstreit may have picked Bammer, but right now they are getting all they want . . . . from Arkansas .

Facts are facts fellows.

We're behind the 8 ball in anyone's book.

We lose our 1st away game, no offense NCGatorbait, but to a team that looked for all the world like a very beatable offense.

So, what did we do? We dropped an offensive vitamin down our windpipe and choked like Hollywood model after a 6 course meal. It was really bad. It was, in a nutshell, the worst offensive performance I can ever remember the Vols having.

Now, with us having lost to a weak Florida offensive team, how could any of the talking-heads be that excited about us?

Yes, we have a great defense. Possibly so good that it was our D that made the Florida O look so bad (Not as bad as ours mind you, but pretty bad). I'm not really convinced which is the case. If it's the latter, I believe Florida could go into Tuscaloosa and put up better numbers, even though Bama has a good D.

So what are the guys in the booths to do?

I have picked LSU, but I did so as much in anger as anything.

After calming down more, I've looked at the LSU defensive performance against ASU and concluded that their D might be just what our O needs.

I do not believe they'll score more than 20 on us.

I'm just not certain of how many we can score on them. If Ainge relocates his freshman self, we’ll probably win the game. That’s a huge IF.

I think that's the dilemma most 'exSPurts' find themselves in.

No offense taken...but UF is avg.ing 30 pts a game and only giving up 8...I'll take that all the way to Atlanta. It'll take time to get that offense whipped into shape..but I'm not worried if the D and special teams can bring it like they did against UT.

I hate saying this, but I really believe we would be better off scheduling down the first 2 weeks of the season.

If you're going to schedule a patsy, get a real one. Stay in Division I, but get a couple of cupcakes to warm up with.

Getting a better mid-major like UAB, or a solid team like Syracuse or UCLA is not good business these days.

I hate taking this position, but the SEC is too tough to take a chance on a good mid-major or solid non-conference opponent.

Most everyone else is doing it.

With our luck, if we scheduled LA-monroe we'd catch them on a year when they were really tough.

The off week prior to FL is not a good thing, in my opinion.

UF had one cupcake and one pretty good Wyoming team..at the time they were ranked #25 in one of the polls.

Just think about LSU...UF will have played 4 games before they even take the field for their second...I think this favors UT as well in that game.

Regarding Bama...I noticed they gave up over 250 yds to a Razorback team that had threat of a passing game. If UF can run pretty effective that will definitely open up that secondary for Leak and co.

Herbstreit LOL

Just remember this is the same guy who picked Chris Rix to win the Heisman last year, not what you call the sharpest tool in the shed.
