Also, I love seeing all the offers on the defensive side of the ball. I'm somewhat disappointed that there aren't a lot of OL offers out there. I guess the staff is waiting to evaluate them a little more.

Lots of Georgia offers, gotta love that. Also like that we're at least trying to get in on some players from Texas.

Patriots seem to do fine with small receivers, not all of them are jump ball dudes

Agree, those smaller guys like woodhead and my personal favorite wes welker are killer if put into a position where they can contribute. Don't everybody critisize on size alone, they can be great compliments to our outside threats like rogers and definitely hunter

A team can never have too many defensive tackles and it appears that the University of Tennessee is no exception.

Derek Dooley and his coaching staff has a good reputation in the state of Louisiana from his time coaching in that state, he is using those connections to get a head start in the Bayou State for the Class of 2012.

Junior defensive tackle Marcel Andry confirmed with InsideTennessee.com he indeed has a verbal offer from the Vols.

“They are my first offer,” Andry said. “It felt great to get that first offer.”

Andry, a 6-foot-2, 270-pound defender helped lead his John Curtis team to the state championship game against Evangel this season.

“We lost to Evangel in the state finals,” Andry said. “We had a great season, we wanted to win it all.”

Andry is familiar with the Vols and likes what he has watched this past fall.

“They have a very aggressive defensive line,” Andry said. “I have enjoyed watching them play, I like watching Chris Walker play on the Vols defensive front.”

It may surprise you that Andry grew up liking one SEC team, but not the one from his home state.

“I actually grew up a big Florida Gator fan,” Andry laughed. “I have grown up a lot, my new favorite team will be the team that I end up playing for.”

Andry feels that his hard work and dedication will help prepare him for the college level.

“My work ethic is intense,” Andry said. “I love to play the game and I go all out all the

I hope they spend a ton of time in LA. GBO

Detroit Mumford (Mich.) offensive tackle Daron Brown was an All-State selection this year. That combined with his 6'5, 312-lb frame should have colleges coming to check in on him.

Detroit Mumford's Daron Brown is creating a buzz around the Motor City. At 6'5, 312-lbs, he's athletic enough to play a big role on the varsity basketball team.
On the gridiron, he was a force, earning All-State and All-City honors on defense after recording four sacks and three forced fumbles as a defensive tackle. Brown admits he likes offensive line better though, and that's where he sees himself in college.

On Saturday, at the Adidas Maximum Exposure event, he kept his streak of awards going, grabbing an MVP award. He says he also learned some valuable technical points from the coaches there.

"I think the competition was tough. It was fun. I love competition. Basically, the coaches said sit down more when you're trying to get bull rushed."

So far, the college interest has been somewhat slow to start coming, but the three schools he has heard from are BCS schools who are all playing in major bowl games.

"So far, Michigan State, Tennessee and Ohio State," he reported.

Michigan and Illinois are two other schools who Brown has contacted. He says he believes more schools will show interest once his tape is done.

"I e-mailed a couple coaches, got a response, but they want a highlight tape. I'm working on it right now. :good!:

If he's really 6-9 then I'd move him to defensive tackle. That's too tall for an offensive lineman. The quarterback won't be able to see.
