I have also heard it from two different Gamecocks this morning but can't find anything else on it.

well if he does that and decides UT, he will be paying his own way cause there will be no more scholarships.

We'll find room for a DT. We're enamored with skill guys, but college football is about domination on the line.

"I'm a Gamecock, I'm not going on any visits," Quarles told GamecockAnthem.com. "The Tennessee situation, it kind of went crazy after [I said I would 'shock the world']. People kept calling and texting me asking if I'm going to Tennessee. I'm not going to Tennessee. I want to come home and see my family and everybody and be just as close as I am now. I'm a Gamecock, and I would not dare de-commit and try to go to any other school and try to pull any tricks or nothing like that. I'm done. I read about Eric Mack and all of them saying their recruitment is done, so I'm done too."

This was off Cockytalk as of 1/19----perception on their board is that we're obsessed with the kid and he's all South Carolina...

I guarantee that if Quarles decided to come to UT, and we were full, one of the three that we accepted a commitment from yesterday would be on the outside looking in. No way does CDD not take his commitment provided this is actually true.

I actually heard something like this a few days ago, but heard nothing more and just wrote it off as rumor. It still may be just that, a rumor.

Why do people think that a big time program like UT will hold a ship for these kids who want to play the game past NSD? If you have ships to just throw away...thats 1 thing. I do NOT see UT being in that position. People seem to think if Quarles wants to wait.....Ambles wants to wait....they can just call in a week or so and have a spot waiting on them. I think that is incorrect. I notice CDD is filling the 28 or so spots we have. Is he holding a spot for Rogers till NSD....I think he is. As we could grab McNeil last minute. With us needing a full class...I do NOT see CDD sitting and hoping to land 4-5 shockers on NSD....unless they have already silents to UT. I see NO WAY we hold ships after Feb 3rd. JMO

Kelcy Quarles was the #1 rated Defensive Tackle in the 2010 class at one point. I am not sure what he ranked now but either way he is a blue chipper with alot of upside. I would love to have him!

Here's some more from Cockytalk---the kid sounds like he's going to be a good one..shame....

"My goal when I first get down there is to get my name out there and let everybody know that I'm here, that I'm not going anywhere for four years, and that every time I put my hand down, every time you put your hand down, it's going to be a fight. And I want to get a few sacks, but most of all I want to help the team, I want to help do whatever it takes for the team to win. All I want to do is win."

"I always say the sky is the limit. We're going to beat Florida. I don't care what anybody says, we're going to beat Florida. I don't care what kind of recruits they have, or who you get, or whatever, we're going to beat Florida, you can quote me on that one. We're going to win the SEC Championship. What people don't understand, is when I went to the Army All-American Bowl they were laughing when I said I was committed to South Carolina.

"What people don't understand is that South Carolina wasn't far from beating the National Champion and both teams in the SEC Championship. They just don't know what's coming for them, because we're coming for them. I think the offensive line is what we need to improve on and we've got seven good ones coming in. We're all going to go down there and work hard, and we're going to get an SEC Championship because I feel like we care more and we want it badder than past teams."

He is a soft verbal to SC and we are listed along with LSU as teams he has interest in. It would be nice to get him to visit after NSD. That would be a nice way to finish off our class.
