Has Hart been talking to potential coaches the past few weeks or was he really in the dark and now we are in a panick to find a new coach?

I hope he has been talking to agents, but he can't actually talk to a coach that has a job right now. Unless he is given permission by that schoool

I would guess he thought even Dooley could not screw up and lose to Mizzou, Vandy, or UK. We would be headed to a bowl game and he would then annouce a new HC for next year. Whoops!!

Let's hope Harts ready. If not, he can leave arm and arm with Dooley

I can't imagine Hart being unaware of the unhappiness with the fans. I'm sure he's got something going on behind the scenes. But I doubt it's Gruden

I would be shocked if he hasn't at least been inquiring since the Mississippi State game.

If he is truly not ready, with AT LEAST 3 or 4 plans in place, then he should GTFO as well.

i would say in a panic mode now.....but what high profile coach is out there to get

I don't care about a high profile coach (i.e., Joker Phillips is "high profile"...

Hart needs to hire a coach who can gitter on the SEC level and not expect, or need, on-the-job-training.

Chris Low, CNNSI, cbssportsline among others have hinted around that UT has already sent out feelers. The article this week on ESPN's website about good coaching jobs rating UT first is a major hint.

On another note heard something today I did not like and that is Oregon's OFF coordinator may be a candidate. I do not know how the rest of you feel but I am done with us trying to go with the hot system (spread, 3-4) because whoever comes in I want to win now not hear the excuse of they need a couple of years to recruit and install some system.

Plus, pot is not legal in TN so our players would never be as fast as Oregon's players are.

I appreciate you insight. Let's hope we bring in a proven winner.

Honestly, I think that Hart was probably hoping the boosters would do his job for him and get some really big name and if they didn't, he could just say, "Oh well, Dooley went 7-5, it's okay to keep him another year..." But now, I think it will be panic mode. Auburn and Arkansas' ADs have known for awhile that they will need a new coach and have probably already started vetting candidates and establishing relationships via agents. We'll be behind the eight ball because of Hart's laziness. I'm worried we're going to end up with some old guy retread who got fired from the SEC before. Somebody ike Cutcliffe or Tuberville, guys who none of the other schools would want, but who Hart thinks he can sell to the fans, because let's face it, most of our fans aren't too bright (most of them supported Dooley until recently, for instance).

I doubt he would talk to current coaches himself, it's just a courtesy to the other team to wait until after the season. Especially when we have not fired our coach yet.
