Here's a good breakdown of Missouri game, if you can stomach it

Time and time again this season, we have come out of the locker room after the half and absolutely whiffed, while the opposing team went wild.
This is the part that is most concerning to me. Something is missing. Call it whatever you want, leadership, dog, aggression, whatever. Its uninspiring football at best.

That defense at the line where #13 Sr DB Wesley Walker just lets Schrader walk into the end zone @ minute 6:40 tells you all you need to know.

That guy could not sit comfortably ever again, my foot would be so far up his ass as coach. No heart.

Plays like that lead me to think that guys like Boo Carter have a real shot to start right away.

It honestly makes me wonder if Heup gets upset. I just dont see him ever turn his emotions towards his team. Maybe thats part of being a players coach. I dont know much about what goes on behind the scenes or in the locker room but I do know the team looks emotionally checked out way too often.

completely agree... we also need players getting on their teammates that don't try as well

Watching the front three of missou dominate our online. 🤮

I'm scared what Georgia will do.
Or I'm not scared. Seen it before

Seriously doubt that. Coaches don’t want to play freshman it doesn’t seem like
While this staff might not do it, we have had some defensive backs that started as a true freshman. They might make mistakes and give up big plays, but they'll make some plays, too. Personally, I'd rather give up the big play than suffer death by a thousand cuts.

Herring's issues at LB are he is slow to react due to thinking about what he is seeing. Typical issues with young players trying to adjust to the speed of the game. Boo better be here early studying a ton of film to understand role and responsibility to have a chance to help. Super talent but unsure of first step don't always equate to success...

RT, Mincey, is who might as well have just stayed on the bus. Horrible technique and effort. Everyone else played well.

Herring’s biggest issue though is that he’s not talented enough to be the starting LB on an elite defense. True freshmen with talent can play at a high level, see A.J. Johnson and Henry T.

Alabama and Georgia both had a freshman starting in their secondary last year, and they were both freshman All-SEC. If Boo has elite talent he should start, ASSUMING he puts in the work.

I’ll make a similar argument for Jordan Matthews and Ricky Gibson III. If they aren’t playing because Slaughter, Walker, and Jeudy-Lally are better players - fine. But if they aren’t better options than those guys I consider it a miss in recruiting. We are desperate for athleticism in the secondary and if our coaches are leaving our best athletes on the bench because they are young and they’re afraid they’ll make a mistake, I consider that coaching malpractice. The seniors make mistakes too.

We need better recruiting and defense leadership. What the hell is banks doing I thought he was a decent coach. Is he only decent in Neyland ?

Do we have anyone starting on defense that are talented enough to start at Georgia? or Alabama? I'm certain Tennessee does not have an elite defense.

Alabama and Georgia have a lot of elite level players starting. They can absorb freshman, who are elite because that is where they recruit, as starters due to have so many elite players to help them. You put those two on the field this year with Tennessee, we very likely lose a couple more games

Not even close, but that’s what we’re aiming for. If we sign guys good enough to play on an elite defense they should have no problem getting on the field for us. That’s all I’m trying to say. I hope I’m not coming across too argumentative.

nope we are just discussing. To get to elite players, need to start pulling top 5 classes. that or as long as Bama and UGA do, we will trail them... getting one or two per class won't be enough to make a difference...

LWS, Do you think that there will be any staff turnover this off season?

Only if someone leaves on their own. I've no reason to believe anyone will except Martinez. Could see him retiring.

All others remain unless someone comes after them for a better job.

Now i havent been most critical of Joe, but this team is missing leadership. Joe is always smiling and joking around no matter what the score is. We need someone lightning a fire in that locker room. Hendon, Hyatt was those guys last year.
