If Alabama wins over LSU in another tight game. Who gets ranked number one? LSU would be a one loss team, Alabama a one loss team. They would split the series against each other 1-1.

I mean a split title would be obvious. Pretty great system we have?

Alabama would only have 1 loss to LSU.

And I hope Oklahoma State ends up 2 in the polls..They earned it tonight while Alabama did nothing.

And I hate Alabama :)

The system does what it always does....put #1 against #2 at the end of the year. And it's pretty obvious who the best two teams are.

That is pretty much why I would want to see ok state get in. That, and I hate Alabama.

I meant tonight when I said they "did nothing".

I personally think Alabama is better than LSU..but they had their chance and blew it.

I wanna see LSU and Okie St.

If this season would of played out like this before the BCS & OT, I wonder how they would determine the #1 team?

rule is goes to the BCS winner...only issue would become if the talking heads chose to make an actual fuss about it. With Espn actually owning the BCS now, chances of that could be 50-50

(...and the same thing can happen in a playoff system, but people oddly seem to have no aversion to the idea of a similar thing - a scenario if were a later win by a team overtook an earlier loss to the team they were playing - happening if it occurs under a the different moniker)

Hopefully a majority of the voters do too. A rematch would be a snooze-fest AGAIN. No thank you. I want to see a high-powered O against LSU's D.

Real outcome: I want to see LSU's D completely shutdown OSU's O and LSU's O overwhelm OSU's 100+ ranked defense in a rout.

You won't see a high-powered o, you will see a beat down that will be about like watching LSU play a team like ole ms or ut level. It will be painful to watch.

Really, when it comes down to it, we shouldn't even have a title. Nobody deserves it over LSU.

LSU should beat down OKST if they were to play. There's no question LSU-Alabama would probably be the better and more competitive game, but a rematch is just so underwhelming.

Of course, with a playoff this argument isn't even really necessary. I hate the BCS.

I guarantee you it'd be more interesting than a rematch.

If the same team plays twice and they split, you could make the argument that the team that won second is more deserving because they made the adjustments to win the second time. The first time can be somewhat of an unknown but if you win after you've gone up against it, you might be the better team. Like I said earlier... the Patriots were 18-0 and beat the Giants around week 15, give or take a week. Giants beat them in the Super Bowl and were the only team to beat them. Guess they made the adjustments to do so...

Polls at the end of the year; split title between Bama and LSU, with likely more favor to whoever the conference named as its champion/ got the invite from the major bowl, presuming they both win their games

OkSt would also be undefeated with a tie in this case

...are we talking about AP & Coaches poll being the end all pre-BCS or the even earlier whole multitude of polls (50s,40s,60s?...maybe into the 70s?)

of course LSU would likely play some big east/ACC champ, Ok St playing the other, etc

I don't know why everyone assumes the game between the two will suck. Every game between Bama & LSU the past 5 years has came down to at least the last 5 minutes.

Got a headache just thinking about it. As much as people complain about it the BCS is good for the game
