Heupel will tell media what he wants it to know

It would make for an interesting sports discussion to talk about the extent to which different sports allow coaches to just tell the truth as they see it, without it giving opponents some advantage.

Tony Vitello can do it, though that may say more about him than about baseball. Kim Caldwell seems to be doing it now, but she is in the midst of building trust, with fans, recruits, parents, and her players. Will some of that change, over time?

Barnes is an old hand. He seems by nature to be an open person, but from experience he knows how to "reference" a potentially controversial topic without actually talking about it. He's smooth without being disingenuous.

But I think a lot of coaches have learned from Belichick that there's no truthful information that doesn't help your opponent. I think that's the nature of football more than football coaches. But I'd love to hear a discussion about it among guys who've covered a variety of sports.

Agree w your statements. Barnes has the leverage as a probable HOF coach to say what he wants...Tony V...it's just who he is, and agree that Kim's putting herself out there being new to build support. It's just JH style I guess. Can't argue with the team chemistry he's built, generally keeping everything inside the walls. As long as it leads to W's, he can keep doing what he's doing.

I think out of all of our coaches, Heupel is the X’s and O’s guy. Vitello and Barnes are developers and motivators type. Heupel is a strategist, which means it’s in his nature to keep everything close to his chest. Spurrier never had much to say other than jokes, if you’ll accept what I consider a good comparison.

I'm hoping Heupel is also a Developer as reputed. Of QBS. So far the evidence says He is.
