well I just got back about 3 hours ago from Miami. I got third in the 4x800. We were very happy, and it was the first medal in track i have ever won so I was very happy with myself. after the race, I had a recruiter from Florida tell me that they are interested in me coming to there school for track. I am suppose to speak to him later today. what should I tell him.

true true. Well I have had four colleges talk to me so far: Arkansas, florida, FSU, and Navy. My farther went to Navy so he had a few strings pulled for them to talk to me. I figure that is where I will be heading. Well unless I find one of these schools to be flat out amazing for me.

Yeah, thanks for the advice. I ran a 1:55 yesterday. I was very happy. we aere down by 7 seconds by time I got the stick. We lost to first place by 1 second and second beat me by leaning foward farther than me at the end. Also today was the first time I have drank a soda in a year and 2 months. Man do these things taste good.

Well, I'm old enough to be your momma and then some, so here is what I would do. I would tell him when he calls that you are extremely flattered that they are interested in you and that you are looking forward to sitting down with your parents and your coach to discuss your future. Don't promise him anything, don't be too excited to go there until you know what they are going to offer you. Just remember this, GRADUATING & making GOOD GRADES are usually much more important than which school you attended!!!! You should consider how long it will take you to finish school and what it will cost you. Then you will know if you have to work, study, and run track if you go there. ACADEMICS is the most important thing. Do you have an college placement advisor at your high school that can help you? Someone who does this sort of thing day in and day out? OK, mom is saying CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I'm so happy for you and your medal... and I wish that I had the determination and the willpower to kick my cola habit. NO WONDER you don't have cankles!

hahaha thankyou, I love your advice. I know that I will be going the Navy after 4 years of college, so I have to think of what I need to major in. I really have no idea.

you'll come up with something good... I just know it! Give yourself a year or two to figure it out. Try a couple of classes and see what you like, and then do it!

Is your family military?

Follow your heart man, don't try to major in anything that will just bring home the bacon. Find something that you would love doing. I had a job that I really enjoyed for 15 years, and then my world turned upside down. My father had a heart attack about 4 years ago and I was asked (pushed) to come back and take over the family business, (something I never wanted to do). Don't get me wrong I love my family but I hated the family business and family politics. So I was the good son and came back to help out my dad. I am glad to be here helping out my parents, but wished I was still in Knoxville doing what I loved most. So what I am trying to tell u is to do what u want, not what others want. Good Luck...You have a great head start from the sound of it.

As a military minded man. Id say if you choose Navy you cant go wrong!

plus beats the heck out of living down a gator reputation the rest of your life.

All jokes aside if your father was a Navy man! It seems natural that you should know the life style and will get an excellent education! And if im correct? Once thru school fulfill your navy obligations as an officer! The pay is good! and the job pending your situation should be a blast! After your thru welp yesss get to do what it is You enjoy.....Good luck with your decision
