It's all about the money, yeah they look bad, but Tennessee's position is the same. Morals and doing the right thing take a back seat to money and this is probably true at every major university that have cash cow athletic programs. In this case though Ohio State isn't bothering to hide it and their buddies at Espn are keeping it as quite as possible for them.Check out this quote from Schlabach's article:
Ohio State president E. Gordon Gee said he never considered firing Tressel.
"No, are you kidding me?" Gee said. "Let me be very clear. I'm just hoping the coach doesn't dismiss me."
Sounds like the Academic side is running the place to me, doesn't it you ? :crazy:

Yeah but plenty of teams are good in the SEC, not so much in the Big Ten. They're protecting their investment because for the most part the Big Ten sucks.
