Give the guy a chance. Let him assemble his staff and see what he does before you start burning mattresses!!! Go vols we need to get excited and support this new coach!!!!!!!

I think he can coach, but the proof will be in recruiting. To be optimistic, I'm thankful that we didn't end up with Gundy. That is the best I got right now.

I have seen where many are putting down his offense. I have seen the Bearcats play and it doesn't look much different that Meyers at Florida. Am I wrong there?

I would go one step farther and say that Butch was a better fit than Strong...We suck on D and we hired a guy who's D was ranked better than Louisville.

I will say this, at least he has some wins and conference titles under his belt. Dooley came here with none of that. I will give him a chance because he deserves it. It's not his fault that he wasn't everyone's first choice. I mean, I love my Vols....what else am I going to do??

if you want to watch good football you better go watch LSU. tenn will not have a winning record under butch bank on it. we will suck for more than a decade now and it is thanks to cheek and the biggest idiot of all time DAVE HART. hart is nothing but bammer trash.

I've kind of gotten used to the idea of letdown and anything to do with UT football anymore.. I was mad at first, but now i wonder why.. I should have expected this...

There's Pessimism, and Optimism. Then, there is Realism. I prefer Realism. So many of these posts lean either Pessimist or Optimist. I do like that Jones has won at both of his last two stops. I do like his defensive mindedness. And, I'm hearing good things from our Players he recruited and Tennessee commits. There are negatives. He hasn't coached in the South (SEC specifically). Will he work well competing with other SEC coaches in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, etc for recruits? I'm hopeful but Realistic. Though, I give my full support. VFL.

By definition, this is what fans do. They support the team. The man has a good record previously and he's 0-0 at UT. Why not give him a chance

The fact that he has already reached out to Tee Martin within hours of being hired proves to me that he gets 'IT.' Next step is actually hiring him and then I'll be confident this was a solid hire. GBO!

Compare Dooley's record prior to coming to UT to Jones'.....that should make you stop your whining.
